Rainier worked as an assistant superintendent at Scioto Country Club, where he was heavily involved in the @GreenGCA restoration of the Donald Ross design. Ross designed Lancaster GC’s current back nine. Rainier has worked tactically to revive Ross elements at Lancaster.

Lancaster (Ohio) Golf Club had been shuttered for four months when a group of local residents purchased it and hired Seth Rainier as superintendent in January 2022. Rainier had no equipment and no crew. Less than three years later, Rainier’s team has the course shining.
