A much better performance and an undeserved result. What do we need to do to get some swagger back. Now for a 4 hour drive home if I can stay awake. #Gills

@OwenLDBR Robbie is under contract until the end of next season. I'd keep seeing as he can play multiple positions.

My thoughts on the Gills squad going into the summer, admittedly forgot who’s out of contract and not while going through #Gills

Hopefully johnny Williams will retire at the end of the season so another club doesn't have to suffer #gills

@jamesrtingley Told from GAs appointment it was a 2 year plan. This season was a patch job with 1 year extensions handed out to players that should be able to mount a promotion push at this level. BG explained how the FFP and budgets would reset this summer. I think we should stick to it.

Gutting 90% of the squad and sacking GA are not independent decisions. Both happening is a viable option for #Gills Whether that is the right decision, that can be debated. Perhaps a complete reboot is what is needed, along with realignment of expectations. #UpTheGills

@GillsInTheBlood There’s only so long you can say ‘stick with us’ before you completely lose the most loyal of fans who are tired of paying money to see us suffer humiliation week after week. As for the players, spineless and pathetic - but we knew that long before today! #gills

Keep GA, clear the decks (even Dack), finally get Scally out of the club, find better training facilities, aim for top 10 next season. #gills

@RHatton92 From what we have heard from BG I think the penny dropped a while ago that the players aren't good enough. I also doubt GA signed up without a very healthy severance package given our previous. I think he will be allowed to build a team for next season. But who knows.

If Ainsworth is given the boot, I hope people higher up the ladder pay attention to these useless players and don’t renew any contracts this summer. Pick 11 out of the rainham end every week and you’d get more passion #Gills

@jamesc1988gfc @DannyGipson @TheGillsFC Post match Tuesday first thing he says "not good enough" in this article "Go to the abbey Saturday and put it right". He's literally been saying it every week for a few months. Saying there's no pressure on a weakened team is not gaslighting

@jongills81 @DannyGipson @TheGillsFC No one said Gareth has to pile in,humiliate the players in conference, this is an assumption from you. Likewise he doesnt need to gaslight the fans. ‘We’ve been poor, we know that its not good enough and we look to putting things right starting with Cambridge’ Keep it simple

@jamesc1988gfc @DannyGipson @TheGillsFC Exactly, they have the fans in their back if they're shite. What difference does it make if GA piles in. We have plenty to moan about but being bothered about what is said in a press conference ain't one.

Hey @BradGalinson I was part of a L1 ownership group (8 yrs in total) until last season so totally understand the issue. BUT the irony of you complaining is a bit rich! You came in only a few years ago and was one of the main drivers of wage inflation in L2 for the last 3 years spending heavily, for little reward. You (and others) are a big part of the problem please understand that.

‘Everyone is chasing dreams’: as wages soar will EFL lose appeal for foreign investors? The Gillingham owner, Brad Galinson, issues warning and wants to find a fix as costs spiral amid ‘the Wrexham effect’ theguardian.com/football/2026/…

@BradGalinson Said it when we were relegated to league two that I'm happy to stay here as long as it takes to get our club back. Almost a decade of stagnation can't be fixed just throwing money at it. Let's start by getting Scally out for good. Set the foundation and the rest will come.

So, Gills, what to say right now? A few things. We knew it would take a few seasons to right what was inherited and to get our bearings. Injuries also huge issue. Shan and I (and Joe and Gaz and Dobbo and everyone else) still love and support this team and the fanbase. Stick with us. All we can do is survive the battles until we reinforce the foundation. It hurts. But can you imagine, some day, how it will feel when we finish our work? Another thing, while I wholeheartedly support the Gills and English football, I, along with nine other L1 and L2 owners, are taking a stand on the state of the EFL. It loses £500M per season and nearly all its clubs are within 1 month of being Sheffield Wednesday. No business owner on the planet, myself included, would affiliate with that sort of incompetence. And it is far too much heartbreak for communities to bear. Cannot continue for even a single season. See link below if you're interested. @TheGillsFC @EFL theguardian.com/football/2026/…

January of that season we brought in legge as a dominant physical CB and Cody as a plan B with some pace to come on and stretch tired defenders. I suppose GA needs to work out a plan A first.

Allen played direct, target man, high press. With wing play, set pieces and long throws a core part of game. Is this what people talk about being Gillingham. Who do we have that fills these roles currently.

Stannard, Harris, Ratcliffe, Thomas,Naylor, Manuel, O'Connor, Smith, Watson, Fortune West, Bailey. Was pretty much our starting 11 of 95/96 team if I remember correctly. Only 2 were existing players. This is our reality this summer. Who in the current squad fits to this? #gills

Pulis' played a deep backline, had physicality and height, extreme discipline and work rate. Football wasn't that exciting but winning made us happy. Maybe this should be our base. Is this the Gillingham type people keep talking about?
