@realDonaldTrump Nobody asked, nobody cares. You were not invited. You are inconsequential now.

#inte5711 A number of these books should look familiar. :-)

I posted this in July. But I am interested in your life-changing (well, at least huge-impact) books that you still reference after all these years. I, btw, would add "The Worm at the Core" to this stack here (plus some others; I need a new stack).

@christy_ridd Thank you for providing the group with a sample Tweet Chat, Christy! Have a great rest of the weekend. #INTE5250Fall20

@christy_ridd One thing I've found helpful is to pick a Tweet Chat group that meets w/regularity and follow their hashtag...see if the contributions are relevant and of value. You can also see who is contributing and that helps you determine if following them is helpful to you. #INTE5250Fall20

As we close out, are there any additional thoughts or questions people would like to share? #INTE5250Fall20

@christy_ridd I so agree that we need to help students learn about digital citizenship and learn to manage their digital identity and presence. #INTE5250Fall20
English

@jonidunlap I think it's important to teach digital citizenship these days and the best way to do it is using social media in schools. I think this also ties into privacy and also responsibility of who you follow. #INTE5250Fall20

A4: In my experience people are concerned about security, safety, and privacy. They also worry about tracking accounts. For me I find it is easy for me to go down rabbit holes if I am not focused and goal driven. #INTE5250Fall20
English

@christy_ridd Yes I think that is a good solution. And managing who you are following / friending. #INTE5250Fall20
English

@jonidunlap Rabbit holes can be a problem with the internet in general. Do you think having a dedicated professional account helps with privacy concerns? #INTE5250Fall20

A4: Good point about persistence. It can take awhile to discover the value. #INTE5250Fall20

A3: I think especially in our domain that collaboration is critical. Our domain is so ever-changing that we need to support each other in advancing ideas. I think collaboration via social networking is the key to lifelong professional learning at this point. #INTE5250Fall20

That's a great article, Christy, thank you for sharing it. #INTE5250Fall20

@christy_ridd A1: I can understand that feeling. I'm having trouble adopting Slack, likely in a similar way to instructors apprehensive to use Twitter.

A1: One thing that surprised when doing research is that many of the fear of using Twitter comes from instructors being unfamiliar with it. Meeting students their way can inspire trust #INTE5250Fall20
English

@christy_ridd A1: I think it can help learners further process as they interact with others via a classroom activity -- sharing ideas, perspectives, information.

Q1: What benefit of using Tweet Chats in the classroom surprised you? #INTE5250Fall20

@chuckwoolery You are a horrible person. You should be ashamed of spreading this lie.
