Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea máxima culpa. Earlier today, I quote tweeted someone who was endorsing Karen Bass for mayor and included information about a horrendous crime that impacted them. My intent was to point out the insanity of supporting the people who've turned LA and CA into a dangerous cesspool. I have deleted the post because it was thoughtless. The world of politics ain't a sandbox. It's brutal and nasty and people call me nasty names on the daily—and that's okay because I signed up to fight for sanity and it's definitely a battle. I would hope that people on the side of public safety, good governance and clean streets would realize that they don't need to call people names or cast aspersions on their careers or be nasty—I don't have "followers" that I can command to do as I wish, but I hope you know that if you're hurling gratuitous insults at people on the other team, you're not helping. Make your point, yes. And continue to call me out when I fail at that. I have interacted publicly with @ZevYaroslavsky, @mikehtrujillo, @neeratanden, @sarasadhwani, @MaliaCohen and even @KarenBassLA (the latter at a lunch) and I would hope that they'd all agree I'm a fierce defender of conservatives, republicans and my team, but not nasty for no reason.
