Soooooo... anyone wondering wtf our N64-to-Dreamcast port master, jnmartin, has been up to lately? Well, look no further than this gameplay footage of the next game he's planning to port to the Sega Dreamcast... EVERYBODY SUPER SONIC RACING!!!! IT'S SONIC R!!! Yes, this capture is the game running on a Mac, not a Dreamcast (yet). Why does anyone care about it running on a Mac? Because this time around, there was no preexisting decompiled codebase to even base the Dreamcast port off of... jnmartin has had to start from square 1, decompiling the entire codebase of the PC version of Sonic R from scratch! His decompilation is now running natively on MacOS, using fixed-function OpenGL for rendering, with several little code updates for 64-bit compatibility. As you can see, he's come a loooong way and has a decomp that is already fully playable with just a few glitches and pieces of missing content... and it's getting more complete every day! The only other big missing item from the source material, which jnmartin has teased potentially bringing to the Sega Dreamcast when it comes time to port the codebase is... dun dun dun...
