A 3-run 7th gave the Lions the late lead and the win. Riley Lowry threw 7 innings of 2-run ball and was stellar to keep UAFS in the game. Brandon Ulmer had 3 hits from the leadoff spot. Current @LoneStarConf standings as this this morning. With the win by UAFS, Texas A&M Kingsville is eliminated from playoff contention. The #1 Seed is still up for grabs, as West Texas A&M and Angelo State play this weekend. West Texas A&M wins the regular season title outright if they win 3 and Lubbock loses a game. Lubbock Christian wins it outright if they sweep and West Texas A&M loses at least two. Angelo State wins it outright if they sweep and Lubbock loses at least two. The Top 4 seeds host the first round, UT Tyler can clinch a top 4 seed with two more wins this weekend, UTPB can clinch it if they sweep and UT Tyler loses one of their remaining two games. Texas A&M International, UAFS, St Edward's, and Eastern New Mexico still have a chance for the postseason. @JWonCATCHING Agreed! Also would add that “A” move after long hold can be effective! Often it seems (at least at college level) many picks to first are after short hold vs longer holds when going to the plate

Then you can be more committed & focused on executing your pitch.

Most of the stolen bases are given up after longer hold action which IMO gives the runner an advantage because when the pitch clock winds down the runner knows you are about to pitch. Combine that with slow break times & you have a minimal chance to control the running game.
