@ScooterMcNeice While it is hard to blame it all on Parish we have seen it with him before. The midfield sometimes looks better with him out of the team. Now do you take him out or the people around him?
English

@AlbertThurgood To be fair, atleast they won a trophy. Better than anything the men’s program has contributed for 2.5 decades.
English

It’s almost like the Essendon Football Club has no idea about football from top to bottom.
Albert Thurgood@AlbertThurgood
AFL team: awful for years VFL team: awful for years AFLW team: awful for years. Any news on the E-sports team?
English

@AlbertThurgood And Criticised internally and by the media for challenging the players to get better.
Tells you a lot about this club.

@WHWindsock @BomberBanter_au This club always goes to shit when The Windsock gets cancelled.
English

Where is the leadership from Fiorini?
Lay it off, and make a shepherd.
Simple stuff.

@WHWindsock This club has been solely responsible its supporters unhealthy drinking problems.

“The Australia Institute has published our annual tally of subsidies, concessions and tax breaks to major fossil fuel users and producers . . . Our estimate is $16.3 billion in 2025-26,” writes Rod Campbell.

Repeat after me, Essendon fans:
‘I will not build up my hopes regarding anything Essendon does in the off-season.’

"It can be revealed the ABC, Channel 7 and Kayo are all set to broadcast VFL games in 2026" Great news👍

The VFL is on the verge of finalising a three-network broadcast rights deal set to inject new life into the second-tier competition. Greg Swann: "It's out of this world". More details here: bit.ly/4unN2yw

@RationalMan74 @ScooterMcNeice 100%
AFL clubs are a sterile copy of one another.
Linking clubs with champions of the past, is one of the few things left in football which is genuinely about its history.
Some of us do give a shit about club history.
English

@ScooterMcNeice Clubs should be able to develop and access father-son picks.
Every club (except GC and GWS for now) has access to this pool and should be able to identify, develop and freely draft the talent within it.
The last piece of romance in AFL….nobody wants it to be made harder.

Real Footy (AFL)@agerealfooty
The AFL is preparing to change draft rules to force top teams to cough up established players if they want to get the points required to draft the best young talent each year, and the teams that will be immediately affected are Carlton and Port Adelaide. theage.com.au/sport/afl/the-…

@bomber_talk @Leigh1683 @ScooterMcNeice 100%.
Just like when we prematurely ‘locked away’ Menzie for 2 years, before the season started…. Because “we have no small forwards”.
That’s worked out well for us. We held on to Menzie 12 months too long.
English

@Leigh1683 @ScooterMcNeice I doubt that the eagles are that desperate for a ruck given they just drafted one wit the essentio second pick
English

@bomber_talk @ScooterMcNeice Yeah agreed.
Probably should be held off until the mid season bye.
It reeks of a Jones/Edwards premature re-signing for me.

Father-son rule has been in place for about 70 years.
NGA’s are the problem. father-sons are a tribute to the AFL’s rich history by connecting families with clubs, in an era where clubs are sterile and player loyalty has disappeared.
English

@ScooterMcNeice Academy players. Sure.
But Father-Sons? Why ruin that romance of it?
English

A story that could have similar ramifications with Essendon in 2027( Bewick). AFL may make it even harder again in 2026 to acquire Academy and Father Sons.

English

@ScooterMcNeice Unfortunately your going to see a lot more “injuries” to these father-son and NGA players now.
Clubs will find a way to get their player.
There needs to be a middle ground between over-paying and Under-paying.
English

@ScooterMcNeice Sorry to be cynical, I just can’t trust that Ridley will ever be fit to play on a regular basic.
I can’t say that I’m surprised by this tbh.
