@sleepyserenade @mudron One of my favorite movie theater experiences was seeing the Hateful Eight in 70mm film and being able to HEAR the projector in the theater. That thing was a beast.

It’s so weird to hear a visiting industry professional explain to students how films used to come in cans and it was expensive. Now digital is sooo much more cheap and convenient. Me, sitting next to a literal film projector while he’s saying this: 👁️👃👁️

@mudron I wonder if they still give you film strips at the Ghibli museum. They did when I went in 2015.

Fuck popcorn buckets, little 35mm strips of the movie you’re watching could *almost* get me back in theaters.

In my 20s I went to a lot of midnight movies in the city. Luckily the people dedicated enough to go to a midnight screening of 1975’s Rollerball were not the people that were there to make fun of it.
