The OBR forecast as Conservatives left office was for 2026 2% UK GDP growth, unemployment 4.2% and inflation 1.9% . After Labour’s tax rises they now forecast just 1.1% UK growth, unemployment up at 5.3% and inflation up at 2.3% for 2026.

The answer to the big issue posed in the NEETs report is create more jobs. How many more times do we have to tell this government their tax on jobs, their high taxes on business, their dear energy and their net zero bans destroy vacancies and create unemployment?

Energy bills are rising again. Labour will blame Iran, but you’re paying more because of Ed Miliband’s net zero taxes and refusal to drill our own oil and gas. Our Cheap Power Plan would cut bills by 20% by scrapping the green taxes, scrapping VAT and drilling in the North Sea.

When is the government going to remove the blocks to get some new reservoirs built? If we have more hot days and more people living here we will need plenty of extra water. The government and Regulator have the powers to fix this. Would also add to growth and jobs.

Benefit handouts need to be slashed, the rules toughened and the two-child benefit cap brought back. Only the Conservatives, under Kemi Badenoch, have committed to doing so. If welfare keeps spiralling out of control, taxes will need to go up again, which isn’t sustainable.

Ed Miliband is failing. He’s not knocked £300 off our bills, he’s increased them. The cost of living is getting far worse under Ed and Labour. Ed is killing the oil and gas industry and pushing up unemployment. He is totally incompetent and needs to be sacked urgently.
