@jonsurrell No idea, sorry. I don't see anything in the mailing list logs around that time either. Most of that stuff was just whatever the browsers at the time did already, so the real "why" of it may be lost to the late 90s, in the logs of the Netscape or IE teams.

If you make sure `wp-api-fetch` is enqueued, you should be able to access it via `const apiFetch = wp.apiFetch;` from inside your module. I hope to solve this problem and have an API module before that pattern proliferates too much.

Module not found: Error: Attempted to use WordPress script in a module: @wordpress/i18n, which is not supported yet. @briancoords @aurooba have you seen this when trying to use the Interactivity API?

It's official. The Interactivity API is part of @WordPress, starting from WP 6.5. Kudos to @DAreRodz, @cbravobernal, @santosguillamot, @jonsurrell and @gziolo for pushing it to the finish line without me, while I was taking care of this other new little thing 💜

@HowellsMead @elliottrichmond This isn't entirely accurate. You can use the @wordpress/interactivity package from npm. You can build an interactive page using directives and the client-side APIs without WordPress. It's true that it's designed for WordPress and that's where it really shines.
