Absolute privilege as always to hear @FrRichardJB Farmer Richard inspire the kids (& adults) in the classroom! 🙌🏻 The conversations, thinking, motivation & empathy of 8-9 yr olds makes me excited for the future 💫

@FrRichardJB We read this news article as a class today...my Year 6 students were in dismay. Environment, social and economic sustainability...What are the priorities? Who can they count on?

This is symptomatic of our dominant cultural blindness: nature is a resource, knowledge is disconnected from people & place, humans are subjects to a false god called economy. This blasting is grotesque.

Ancient rock shelters destroyed in Pilbara mining blast on Sunday. PKKP Aboriginal Corporation devastated at loss of Juukan Gorge sites. Terrible irony that awareness of blasting came when PKKP contacted Rio for site access for NAIDOC @BillJohnstonMLA bit.ly/3enmyFv

MCS teacher @joobrien77 is having her students use 6 word memoirs to explore the character of Layla in the book Internment by @sam_aye_ahm. Such powerful examinations of her beliefs, character traits, etc. @pernilleripp, you might be interested in seeing these!

Educators must progressively withdraw from the student, shifting the responsibility for learning from the teacher, where it traditionally is, to the learner where it belongs. The hardest working person in the classroom should never be the teacher, it should always be the student.
