The notion that grad students can't make ends meet is absolutely ridiculous to me. I am an autodidact stonemason who lives a mile away from Christminster university. I am essentially a grad student with no stipend and no support. I'm making it work. Why can't they?

Guided By Voices has a really tough albatross as a band I think. Those 100000 Pollard songs are all good and I probably wouldn't skip more than 1 or 2, but also Game of Pricks is such a glaringly perfect song I'm always a little bummed he didn't write 100000 of those

I still think nightcrawler is the best portrayal of sociopathy in a major film, at least in my experience with sociopaths. Seems like serial killers are the minority.

mamdani Socialistly balancing the budget is some truly son of the century-tier bullshitting because what he's basically doing is ransoming hochul for state funds with the threat of a primary challenge. very based, but not a very replicable form of fiscal politics
