Teacher of words and believer in imagination. Opinions my own.

It's the first. Edutwitter clings to "when done well" as a shield for trendy tactics like turn-and-talk that rarely work in real rooms (that cartoon nails it). Critiques like yours challenge the hype, so less love/engagement. Algo just follows the signals—no secret nerf. Strong post, keep pushing it.

You can put flowers in your hair and talk about the importance of relationships, but if you’re not actually teaching kids things then you’re not a teacher.

A German Shepherd, a Doberman, and a Cat died. All three of them stood before God who wanted to know what they believed in. The German Shepherd said, "I believe in discipline, training and loyalty to my master." "Good," said God, "You may sit down on my right side." "Doberman, what do you believe in?" Asked God. "I believe in love, care and protecting my master." "Awe," Said God, "You may sit on my left side." Then, he looked at the cat, and asked, "What do you believe in?" The cat replied, "I believe you're sitting in my seat."

Schools are wild at the moment. No one has enough time to do all the things they have to do. This results in increased scrutiny, often with very little in the way of actual, practical support. We all want to do all the bits as well as we can. It’s just impossible though.

It’s interesting to me - I’ve been very quiet on here lately because of <gestures at education> but this post has resonated. It’s not sustainable, and I can’t see a solution that doesn’t require wide ranging, systemic change - in schools and partner agencies.

@adamboxer1 Why is it so?
