I think a Casemiro, Mainoo pivot can work if you invert Dalot next to Casemiro and push Mainoo up in possession. Not seen Dalot into midfield since ten Hag but thought it was his best role whilst at United. Decent engine, decent technically, decent defender, kept it ticking.

If it was down to me, I’d keep Fletcher with a senior coaching team around him until the end of the season and then employ Ancelotti who should retain Fletch and others. United need a figurehead to stable the ship and attract the right sort of players.
