I’ve said this (last line) to medical students in the past. Health (including medicine AND public health) is not about just helping people like you. Individualistic policies like this empower negligence and malice in hopes of dividing people.
Josh Trebach, MD@jtrebach

I’m an emergency medicine doctor. When you come to my ER, I will take care of you even if your beliefs are different than mine. My job is to take care of patients. If you would deny a patient care because they have different beliefs than you, then you should not be in medicine

For anyone interested in my delightful ramblings, here's a link to the talk I gave to a mixed audience of clinicians, researchers, and community members. I highly recommend the talks from other TRANSPORT fellows, too! youtu.be/M9YAtl7vqlE?t=…

Take-home: consistent research shows HIV care-disengaged SMM *may* use DBS tech to supplement ongoing care. Clinical interventions are a GREAT next step to test this in the real world. Costs for Tasso and finger-prick for HemaSpot are 2 major limitating factors, though. (5/6)

I recently gave a talk at @sunydownstate on the use of dried blood spot tech among cis queer men living with HIV who use stimulants (e.g., meth, cocaine). In short, this tech may help supplement ongoing HIV care, incl. among folks more likely to be disengaged. Video below! (1/6)

Thanks to everyone who reached out! These tickets have found new homes. Wish I had more to share. Everyone should get to see a positive, queer, and affirming band like MUNA without wild scalper costs!!

Do I know anyone in the NYC area who needs ticket(s) to the MUNA show tonight (face value, $50 w/ tax/fees)? My friend and I have two extra and hate the idea of trying to resell them for profit, especially last minute. Folks seriously interested, let me know!

MAP's new report, released today, shows how recent attacks on access to medical care for transgender youth are part of a much larger effort to ban medical care for all transgender people. 🏳️‍⚧️ 🧵 ⬇️ See below for highlights. 📒🔗 Read the full report: bit.ly/map-medical-ca…

Honestly, why do people support Archives of Sexual Behavior as a leading (relatively speaking) journal? The bar they consistently use for reviewing transphobic research and opinion pieces is basically the floor. Stop publishing with them.

So proud of Bobbi. We were able to turn a horrible event into a celebration of her brilliance! Thank you @nytimes for writing such a wonderful piece. Not only do we need to view Black children as children, but we need to love & nurture them!❤️ nytimes.com/2023/02/02/nyr…
