We have just heard that the Scottish Govt plan to scrap the cruel two child limit. This is amazing news for Scottish families living in poverty, as a result of this policy. We now call on @leicesterliz and @DWPgovuk to do this same across the UK #post" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">bbc.co.uk/news/live/c8xj…

Together with @savechildrenuk and @CPAGUK we are sending a clear message to MPs at #LabourConference24 - now is the time to scrap the cruel two-child limit. A policy which pushes families with children into poverty. #Lab24 #AllKidsCount
Save the Children UK@savechildrenuk

This week at the Labour Party Conference alongside @CPAGUK & @EndChildPoverty we are demanding justice for children impacted by the two-child limit. We’re sharing real stories with decision makers, urging the UK government to scrap this harmful policy in the Autumn Budget. #LabourConference24

Findings from @ukonward are another example of calls from across the political spectrum for Government to abolish the two-child limit. There is clear consensus that scrapping this cruel and unfair policy must be a priority at the Autumn Statement. theguardian.com/society/articl…

An important clarification - pls share. There is NO two child cap on Child Benefit I've had questions, as many media outlets write confusing statements or use 'child benefit' as shorthand. The two-child cap is not about Child Benefit, it is about benefits (eg Universal Credit or tax credit). Child Benefit is separate and is increased for every child.

If the Labour Party has a moral mission, it must be to eradicate child poverty. I join the 11 unions affiliated to the Labour Party & the TUC, which represents six million workers, in calling for the two-child benefit cap to be immediately scrapped. I will vote for it today.
