most financial products don’t die because the idea was trash…..they die somewhere between, “just one more integration” and “why is this API not talking to that one?” you start out building a product…
next thing you know, you’re debugging 12 vendors, 6 dashboards, and a compliance flow that feels like a side quest. months go by. sometimes a whole year.

Day 11 · The Specific Pain of Watching Someone Grow Faster. Watching someone else grow faster than you is a specific kind of pain. We can all agree 😹 And I want to name it properly because most people just call it jealousy and leave it there. It is not jealousy. Not really. You are genuinely happy for them. At least part of you is. The part that knows how hard this is and understands what their growth represents. But underneath that happiness there is a quieter voice. One that has been there longer. One that does not announce itself but shapes everything. It says: why not me. Why is it not moving this fast for me. What do they know that I have not figured out yet. What am I missing. Am I missing something fundamental. Is there something wrong with how I am doing this. That voice is not jealousy. It is desire. And desire is not a bad thing. It is information. It is telling you that you care. That this matters to you. That you are invested in something real. The mistake is letting that voice redirect you. Letting it pull you out of your own lane and into someone else's. Making you copy their format or their style or their approach because it is clearly working for them. You will never out-them them. They have a head start on being themselves that you will never be able to close. But nobody in the world has a head start on being you. Run that race. It is the only one where you start at the front. Day 11/50 of things nobody says about being a creator. Who can guess what day 12 will be about?🌚 And please your retweets will go a long way as well 😭

Day 10 · The Invisible Seasons. Not every season of your creator journey will be visible. Some seasons are for learning in private. For consuming more than you produce. For sitting with ideas long enough to actually understand them before you try to explain them to anyone else. Some seasons are for rebuilding. For quietly dismantling the version of yourself that was not working and figuring out who comes next. Some seasons are for rest. For filling back up. For remembering why you started before you burned yourself down trying to keep going. None of those seasons look good on a timeline. None of them generate numbers. None of them give you anything to post about. Which is why so many creators abandon them. They feel the pressure to always be visible. Always producing. Always growing. And so they push through seasons that were asking them to slow down and they pay for it later. But here is what I know about the invisible seasons: The roots grow underground. You do not see them happening. The tree looks the same from the outside. Nothing appears to be changing. And then spring comes. And everything that grew in the quiet shows up in the visible. Trust the seasons you cannot show anyone. They are building the foundation that everything visible will stand on. Day 10/50 of things nobody says about being a creator.
