Yes, so my belief is we have a disparity between the standards Chris Davies sets, and the standards that exist within the club. It's quicker to make a happy ship by getting rid of Davies for somebody easier to please, whereas what's harder and more worthwhile is evolving the squad and staff to catch up with where he's at. He's the one who's worked at the elite level.

About a third of Birmingham's signings this season have gone as hoped. Would love us to poach a David Sharpe, a Leon Hunter or a Craig Cope to be HoR this summer, as I think we require a bit more strategic conviction behind our recruitment process to support Chris Davies. We need to ally our data-driven approach with better due diligence in other areas, and Tom Wagner has to learn when to step back. #BCFC | #KRO 🔵▫️

@RyanDeeney2194 Probably be dropped and I’ll look stupid. But he occasionally plays a pass no one else can see. And for as much as he’s sometimes accused of going sideways, he always seems to look forward but there’s nothing there. He looked frustrated multiple times yesterday

A lot to think about after that. Season is over. If you’d offered me mid table pre season I’d probably have taken it. 1st season back in the league, build a promotion ready squad over a couple of seasons. Few issues with that though. This doesn’t look like a team we can…#bcfc

Who is Blues’ player of the season? Up until Christmas I had it as Gray, but I think I’m 50/50 between Roberts and Ducksch now

@DalmarBluenose To be fair, Gray was before the injury, he just hasn’t come back firing. I’ve not seen much from Vicente to get me excited at all. Just think we’ve not signed the experience or type of players we really needed

@joshmac90 Yes, but i do actually think that a few of them is more than good enough, which is why I question CD. Gray, Vicente etc should be head and shoulders above in this league.

This might be reactionary but I’d get rid of half of them in the summer again. Easy to blame Davies but the recruitment has been so so poor. People can talk about the money we’ve spent but that’s irrelevant when it’s on players that aren’t good enough or what we need #bcfc

@kro1uuu That’s exactly it. Davies isn’t perfect but he hasn’t been dealt a great had recruitment wise. Roberts and probably Wagner aside, I think there are valid criticisms or concerns about every other signing we’ve made this season

marvin ducksch is covering 1/10 performances with g/a and u lot are eating it up. we’re drawing and losing, and our press is objectively compromised by playing him, but it’s okay because at least he scored a goal? lol

@kro1uuu You can see why Davies wouldn’t risk that though. If it didn’t work we’d just be playing a combination of strikers that don’t score. It ultimately comes down to poor recruitment that we’re in this situation

@joshmac90 at the very least i believe wholeheartedly that jay would be scoring a lot more without him in the team. with kyogo or priske jay doesn’t have to press for the value of an extra player.

@kro1uuu But no one else scores. I don’t disagree about how general performances but he’s scored and hit the post 3 times. There isn’t more to football than scoring if no one else scores. Get me a striker that scores as many as he does and I’d drop him tomorrow. We don’t have one.

@joshmac90 it is that simple. he makes us objectively worse. he scored, and he cost us a goal, and he was shocking in the majority of what he did. there’s more to football than scoring, and he’s not doing any of the extra stuff well at all.

Never normally leave until the players have been over regardless of result. As soon as I saw this was going to happen I just walked out. We all hoped for a slightly better season but less than a year ago CD & some of those players broke world records.They don’t deserve that #bcfc

@RyanDeeney2194 So do i, but im not convinced it changes much. I’d be more than happy with a mid table finish, signing some younger players like we did in Jan and building from there. But that hasn’t been the message. Summer & Jan window being so polar opposite doesn’t help the message either

@joshmac90 And it's okay if that conversation takes place. I do think fans will understand, even if pressure will follow if we don't get it right. We've listened and understood before. But I suspect the easy option will be taken.

I’m sure some of these Jan signings will go on to be good players in the future, but I’m not convinced they’re what we needed right now. Barely a full season of championship football between the outfield players today & it’s showing. Really missing the experience #bcfc
