My standard refrain (besides "links in pinned tweet") is that, hey, mastodon isn't perfect but it's not corporate and that makes it a better call than bluesky or a Zuckerberg app. MetaFilter is not a catchall but I still love it. But go find good old weird internet, it's worth it

The day when you specifically are most unlikely to be able to read any given tweet seems like as good a one as any for my quarterly? less frequent? tweet to remind you that (a) this platform is doomed (b) because of its awful owner and (c) i miss you and there are other places.
