@Allamarine @maggie48766499 @runthinkwrite Female boxers was a round robin knockouts situation right?
English

@maggie48766499 @runthinkwrite I think that was to be expected. The male athletes who competed and won medals in the past were abiding by the rules in place at the time, however unfair they were.
It would be good if they could do something for the female winners of the Rio 800m, and the female boxers.
English

Important!
The International Olympic Committee has published a series of FAQs abut the new eligibility policy for female Olympic sport.
I haven't gone through it all yet, but it's good to see moves to correct all the misinformation being circulated.

English

@hecheateddotorg @runthinkwrite Don't swimming put an asterisk beside the records or wins of the supersuit era?. There is not much you can do for sports that rely of making finals or round robin knockouts but speed/weight/distance thrown records.....
English

Wonderful.
I understand they won't return medals, and I understand why, but one thing I do think they need to address is the issue of records.
Women's records set by male athletes, even if they were competing under the rules at the time, may still exist in the present. It wouldn't make much sense for an Olympic record in a category to be held by an individual who is not eligible for that category, so I wonder what they plan to do about this (assuming such records exist)
English

@TeamEngland @Team_Scotland Slightly weird that you think promoting female athletes wearing stilleto to the opening ceremony before they compete is a good idea.....do you not value the time and effort they put in and prioritise looking good over functionality and their injury risk?
English

@Team_Scotland Standing with our friends and athletes at Team Scotland 🏴 We can't wait to see you all looking 👌 at the Opening Ceremony.
English

@Team_Scotland Why would you choose marketing material in a uniform version that probably very few athletes will actually wear given the event is for before their competition? Stilettos? Really?. Shows what you think about female athletes.
English

@macgorum @Team_Scotland Yeah...for the opening ceremony before they compete?. Why use marketing material of uniform that will not portray what the athletes will actually be wearing on the day?. Seriously how many will choose stilettos for before they compete?
English

@Team_Scotland I read a great number of responses and none were abusive towards the models. Instead, they were highly critical of the lazy, cliched sterotyped garbage that you thought suitable for our modern day athletes to be wearing. High feckin' heels and a short skirt? Get in the bin
English

@QueenoftheUnde6 @annalesueur @Team_Scotland I wonder if she read the whole brief... Outfit for Scottish athletes for the opening ceremony where they are walking and standing around in 2026 where there is also a photoshoot to market said uniform design. Did she miss the athlete before competition and walking parts?
English

@annalesueur @Team_Scotland If a young woman did design that cross between an Edinburgh gift shop employee uniform and a “Scottish themed” Hooters barmaid outfit then heaven help us.
English

@EtienneTheWolf @Team_Scotland Yeah. Also why shoot marketing material in the versions of the uniform that very few athletes, given its before competing, would wear. What percentage of entire female population would wear stilettos for a long walk, with a tiny skirt& a dinky little handbag.
English

@Team_Scotland No-one is abusing the models. The criticism is the fact you have put the female model in stilettos. How can she be expected to walk the ceremony route in those when the men get comfortable brogues? She could wear socks & comfortable shoes too. Show some respect for your athletes.
English

@johnlbirch @Team_Scotland Yep. Also what athlete, probably already nursing injury is going to risk stand/walk in a crowd, sit on the ground in a miniskirt in stiletto (also with cameras everywhere)? They will choose the other shoes and skirt length. so why take marketing photos in that attire?
English

@Team_Scotland Here's an idea, @Team_Scotland. How about employing some of your own REAL athletes to model this sort of thing? I'm sure many would jump at the chance.
And they'd also then wear appropriate footwear.
English

@commonsens1978 @Team_Scotland Heels for a long opening ceremony before their competition? Stilettos at that. What athlete would do that so why take all the uniform pictures with footwear limited athletes would wear.
English

@Team_Scotland I'm a white Scottish man, nearing my 60s. I don't see anything wrong with the uniforms. No surprise you might suggest. So, I asked my wife of a similar age, what she thought of them. She thinks they're great. You can't please all of the people all of the time I guess.
English

@Team_Scotland What is with the heels though?. Don't athletes have a big opening ceremony and parade that involves lots of walking and standing around or sitting on ground? Before their competitions?. How long does a sprained ankle take to heal?
English

@johncox510456 @amscanlon Ok so imagine an emergency situation How many more words would have to happen to explain what was needed along with worrying have I offended someone, have I explained it correctly or just confused the person at the other end of the phone. Is the right dosage/size going to turn up
English

@amscanlon She could easily asked for one suitable for a trans woman and the right one would have been provided, but her God stopped her. We cannot have the Christian equivalent of Sharia Law determining what happens in our NHS. Melle should have informed bosses trans were an issue with her
English

She wasn’t addressing him.
She was seeking advice from a colleague on his treatment.
As the colleague was on the phone & could not see the patient it was in his best interests for her to accurately describe his sex.
Catheters are very different for males & females.
But hey, nonce rights eh?
Dr Helen Webberley (she/her)@HelenWebberley
How ever can a nurse employed by the NHS, regulated by the NMC, consider it appropriate to decide whether or not she will use the pronouns a patient has clearly expressed they wish to be addressed by?

@AlliehGlam Only cd I've ever bought 2 of. My partner took my car for his work trip so I wasn't going to have it for two weeks and I thought I'd better get a second in case the heat of the car wrecked it anyway. Disappointed afters only digital
English

@FAN77BB @RonnieB80654366 @JenniferSey And the side affects are considered are monitored and used for as short a time frame as possible but there are still long-term issues and regret
English

@FAN77BB @RonnieB80654366 @JenniferSey My understanding is that they are used when puberty starts too early but will restart at normal window if stopped. But it's different if you take them during the normal development window and stop after normal window. So only affects part of signaling puberty development
English

.@tess_mccracken your post isn’t cute or cool. It’s lame.
Now you’ve locked your account and you’re probably boo-hooing that Riley attacked you (she didn’t).
You blocked a person who liked your push up video because her politics are different than yours. You’re the mean girl.

English

@Bingerz123 @Lizbrodrick1 If I'd seen my parents work their butts off all their life I am not expecting them to not have some benefit from that. Why should they forgo that. Chances are I've already had a better life than them. I already have had a better life than my folks. I had holidays, music lessons
English

@Lizbrodrick1 Hey it's your money and of course you have every right to use it how you see fit. The thing I find odd though is that above all else you are choosing to not help your next bloodline even if you can. You don't see it as of benefit to you to secure there futures and relive anxiety

Dear TechToby,
We’ve got a 40 foot yacht based in the Ionian. Get out twice a year to enjoy the sun and Mediterranean diet.
We’ve also got a 3 bedroom [modest by boomer standards] house with a nice garden where we grow vegetables and fruits.
The reason we have these privileges is because we worked darned hard all our working lives in order to achieve them.
I was born in a Council house in what was once dubbed the worst Council estate in Europe.
My other half similar but in a Corporation house where if your parents lost their job, you lost your house.
We both started full time work at 15 years old. Neither of us has ever claimed benefits other than I took maternity leave which wasn’t paid for by my employer [you just had to make ends meet] and the most help I got was £25 maternity pay cheque.
Our children were instilled with the ethos that you make your own way in the world and your outcome is determined by the amount of effort you put in.
We don’t owe our children anything. We brought them up well through sweat and tears.
Our enjoyment of our current lifestyle is payback for our own efforts. Not theirs.
And now we think we might go SKIng, Spending the Kids Inheritance, because it’s ours!
Selfish? No, we inherited nothing from our parents. It is NOT a right of passage!
TechToby@techtoby__
Majority of all the 4, 5 and 6 bedroom homes in my area are all occupied by boomers. They spend all day from Spring to Autumn gardening. Some of them can barely bend down. I’ve no idea why they wouldn’t just sell up. Instead they complain about being unable to heat the property. Any time a home comes up for sale, it’s because someone has died. Then a lot of people don’t even want to buy them because they’ve not been decorated since 1985 and have no bath.
