@TheWattenhofer @akh1l_sol Isn't easier to just set a target number of validators and then rank them by stake with 0 SOL VAT? Using VAT as a way to control number of validators is just going to concentrate revenue on highly staked nodes and concentrate solana even more than it already is.

@akh1l_sol Deciding parameters is above my pay grade. If it was me, VAT would be exactly as high to have the target number of validators ... which is another parameter.

With Alpenglow, the CU limit is literally infinity! You can pack as many transactions as you like, as long as enough validators execute in time to vote before they time out.

DZDP Phase II just pushed Europe’s share of @Solana stake below 66.66% for the first time in at least two years of recorded data. That’s the supermajority threshold. (measured using a 5-epoch rolling average to account for temporary validator region switches)

TLDR thanks to DZDP 82 validators representing 42m SOL, or about 10% of active stake, have migrated from Europe to Asia and North America 🎉 Solana is getting faster and more geographically decentralized, and DoubleZero is helping on both fronts.

Phase II of the DoubleZero Delegation Program (DZDP) has fueled a historic rebalancing of @Solana's validator network. APAC more than doubled its validator count, Tokyo alone grew from 24 to 68 validators, and the two largest validators, representing over 30M SOL, have relocated out of Europe. The DZDP has successfully turned geographic decentralization from a goal into a reality.
