Quick personal note: I'm going to be sidelined to start football season because I was diagnosed with that scary C word last month and began treatment for it last week. I have a good prognosis, I'm in a good place mentally and I trust that God will guide me through this storm. I'm grateful for the support of my family, friends, coworkers and bosses during this difficult time. I'm not going to disappear. I plan on working when I feel up to it, but your patience would be appreciated over the next several weeks as I focus on my health.

Sad it has to resort to this for a guy to play his last year of college baseball. Working your entire life for an opportunity and following every rule and step to achieve it, then getting denied for no logical reason… Don’t know anyone who has worked harder or deserves it more

Zach Joyce publicly disclosing the mental health issues he faced as a young athlete and being an advocate for others facing similar issues was as impressive as anything he or his brother have done on the baseball field. Good luck in your new profession, fella.
