We made it! Our pilgrimage in Spain was 90 miles, 200,000 steps and 30,000 calories over six days. Our group of eight friends accomplished a goal … most of us seniors, the goal was lofty and the challenge demanding. But hey, I’m a life long football coach who loves nothing more than the lofty goal, the demanding challenge. From the very first day when we got lost which added two extra miles onto our twenty mile day of brutal elevation changes, to the special celebrations at the end of the day … our group relied on each other. We became a team and picked each other up And at the end of it all we grew as individuals within our team. If you have the opportunity to challenge yourself on the Camino to Santiago de Compostela then I encourage you to go for it. But if you’re not able …. go ahead and chase those challenges in your orbit.
