@FrazDav Yeah I mean the decline (but not ‘dying’) is clearly undisputed, but I’d argue rugby/cricket are probably more in that definition than F1 was. But hey maybe I’m just being pedantic. It always felt that the sport was a sleeping giant that needed dragging into the 21st century

@jp1_design Interesting. Does seem like viewership had dropped by 40% in the preceding decade. But it only really makes sense next to NFL / Golf / EPL etc. guessing esports takes the big chunk.

@FrazDav Gonna asterisk myself and say it was *one of* the first big sports to come back. Not 100%, but either way we sucked in a huge audience because there was little competition for attention at that time

@FrazDav Netflix is a massive factor, but so too is being the first sport to return during COVID, so it’s a combo between the two I’d say and that’s how we viewed it internally at the time
