@AFCHereWeGo To be fair, you did warn us that Robinson historically was not one for providing a new manager bounce when he took over teams. Not sure Saturday was the time and place for such an experimental lineup with a lot of inexperienced players low in confidence.

@RyanCryle I think he has to take some responsibility for that 1st half. The way we setup gave away far too much space and left inexperienced low confidence players exposed.

@AberIytics Do you think he is being signed to play wing back, or at the right of a back 3?

@AbzPodcast Interesting line-up. A few surprises. I've given up trying to predict how some of these players will perform in any given game. Robinson clearly giving people a clean slate based on what he is seeing in training. That is positive. Hope they repay him with a performance.

@AFCHereWeGo Curious if the additional coaches brought in to "help" were actually helpful. Robinson kept mentioning the need for the players to have one voice. If Leven had Lutz undermining him, then Doc and Burchnall thrown at him with no previous working relationships, it can't have helped.

A word on Peter Leven, who has taken a lot of unnecessary abuse, with some particularly baseless stuff about his coaching work under past managers. He did well 2 years ago in similarly perilous circs, the club rolling that dice again was always a risk. Thanks for stepping up.

@AnthonyRJoseph Good deal for St Mirren. 2nd time we've taken a manager that had a spell of success and earned loyalty from the club and fanbase but was toiling. Give them some money, new manager bounce, and he will be available again this time next year if they want him back.

@AbzPodcast Deary me. I seem to have bypassed anger and jumped directly to thinking this is hilarious. This will make a great chapter in Lutz's next book right next to the penguin story.

Over two months since Thelin left, excuse after excuse about how it's "a hard time to appoint a manager", "we need to wait for the right man", and finally it's Stephen Robinson. The manager of one of only 3 teams who are somehow worse than us this season.

@TheFamousReds Players not blameless, but the constant shuffling of players and shape can't be helping. Really inexperienced backline exposed, midfield bypassed, and hoofball to a foward line unable to win and hold-up the ball. They looked like a poorly organised team with 0 confidence.

The players should be refunding the fans tonight for a start. That was pathetic. Not at one point did they look arsed. 4000 Dons fans travel down to watch that lot collect their payslips and fuck off home not bothered. Wouldn't be surprised if Leven walks. What a mess we're in.

@reluctantnicko VAR relies on a person choosing which frame to use, then manually select where to put the line. In this case the camera angle hides when contact was made. Was he onside one frame before? VAR in Scotland is not good enough in these tight calls. I would prefer it not to be used.

@ScotlandSky Classic of VAR in Scotland: questionable angles, someone choosing the freeze-frame, someone drawing the lines, part-time operators running it. Maybe folk should drop the “bias” takes and focus on SFA competence — and proper investment in officiating in our top league.

@BillBuffalino This is where VAR in Scotland is a waste if time. I have no idea if this is on or off, but nobody is going to convince me that our poundland VAR system with the manually drawn lines can't be manipulated in these situations.

@JMCL1874 @BBCSportScot The problem is consistency. Silly claims of bias and fan attitudes swaying depending on whether their club was positively or negatively impacted let the SFA off the hook for a problem they need to fix. The standard of officiating in our league is terrible.

@AFC1903analysis Could be lack of confidence and game experience. It was concentration, positioning, and decision making on the lunge for the goal. If he was a kid from our academy I could look past it, but a loan signing when we needed a player ready now. We already have Milne, Frame, Lobban.

stats.afc1903.com updated after today’s loss. A nice one for those who share the Skovdahl opinion on statistics. Liam Morrison most completed passes. 2 of which actually went forward. Before we even get into the goal conceded.

@BBCSportScot That's a bit petty from McIness. He should be riding high and enjoying what he's doing with Hearts this season. This just makes him look a bit silly.

@AFCHereWeGo Positives: we went 1-0 down and didn’t turn into a full-blown embarrassing meltdown. Negatives: everything else. That’s the bar with this squad — not collapsing like a house of cards after the first goal feels like a positive.

@AbzPodcast Positioning and decision making have been awful. Not sure if its lack of confidence and experience, or if he's just a bloody awful player. Either way, really need to get him out of the team.

@jonsopel Same movie, same script: “imminent threat”, “decisive action”, then the hard bit gets hand-waved. Post-WW2, the US track record on regime change is long on rhetoric and short on stable, prosperous outcomes for locals.

What’s striking is how similar the arguments are to George W Bush in 2003, and the imminent threat of Iraq’s WMD. That in turn led to American fatigue with the ‘forever wars’ Which, in turn, led to Trump’s 2016 victory and a promise to end US military adventurism And yet, here we are again. This isn’t what Trump’s base voted for

@pieandbov Understand your feedback on Olusanya now. Works hard, and is a nuisance to defenders forcing mistakes - which has resulted in goals and red cards. But 80-90% of the time the final product is just not there. I guess if it was, he wouldn't be back in Scotland.

Dundee Utd 0 Aberdeen 0 Another point away from the play off nonsense for both of these sides, and very rare clean sheets for both were arguably the only positives from a night where Falkirk were probably the biggest winners. That clean sheet ended a run of ten league matches without conceding for Utd, albeit they had Kevin Nisbet to thank for that after a sitter of the season contender in the first half as he somehow sent the ball wide of an empty net. For the Dons their shut out ended a run of conceding in 13 league games and they had Per Kristian Bratveit to thank for that as he pulled off a superb first half save from Panutche Camara, tipping his net bound shot onto the post. Aberdeen have now failed to score in their last six away games in the Premiership, with their last league goal on the road coming at Celtic Park on 21st December. Tough asignments for both this weekend with the Dons at Tynecastle and Utd at Motherwell.
