Today I learned sepsis causes thrombocytopenia because bacteria express neuraminidase, a virulence factor that cleaves sialic acid from host cells allowing for greater adherence to cell surface. When platelets get desialylated they get cleared by kupfer cells in the liver.

One of the Most Underrated Resources for Step 1 has been DIP. So I made a collection of all his HY Videos for Step 1. This will help you boost Your NBME Scores And Improve Your UWorld % as well. Comment DIP, to get the Access. (PS : X doesn’t allow me to DM Non Followers)

Good free photo guide for sub-I's or interns looking to improve their otoscope skills! The text is oriented towards patients but the photos are great examples of ear pathology med.uth.edu/orl/online-ear…

Carotid sinus massage to break a tachycardia is the closest thing to magic we get to do in cardiology. The idea that you can rub on someone’s neck and cure their heart problem is surreal. What are some other quick cures in other specialities that are like this?

If it were up to me, every medical student in good academic standing at their school would easily pass Step 1. Since that is not the case, I have made short videos where I solve USMLE questions from the Free 120 website. I try to explain not just WHAT to know but HOW to approach questions. Hope this helps. Good luck to all of you in dedicated. youtube.com/playlist?list=…

All smiles for the first day of medical school! Spent some time this morning reflecting on my journey and couldn’t help but smile. It’s been a long journey to get to this point and I can’t wait to for all the fun and growth in the next 4 yrs at @rushumedcollege 🤪
