@ashleighfen Farmers need to attract people of equal ability to fight their corner. The presidents were elected in and can be elected out. But good people need to be compensated enough to divert enough of their attention away from their own businesses to represent the farmers of Ireland.

@ashleighfen I did wonder who needs a pay rise on top of 180K? But the people who these men are negotiating with (heads of departments, CEO's and general managers of meat and dairy processors) are all paid well in excess of this for their abilities in strategic thinking.

Where do you even start with this! Absolutely incredible...It may turn out to be redundant since the War began and what has happened since, but the CAP reform negotiations will forever go down as one of the IFA's greatest failings. And yet, they reward themselves with a pay rise.
