@TolarianCollege I know one story is not statistic, but last night I went to a prerelease in a language I'm not proficient in, and it was excruciating to go through every wall of text. And since we are there, multiple arts really don't help.

I agree, but I won't ding Kamigawa for this: that is just Magic The Gathering now.
I can play Magic with my kid no problem, as long as we're using older cards. Sitting down with anything recent, and it grinds his ability to play and enjoy to a halt. But that's Magic now.

@TolarianCollege I disagree. It isn’t a success on EVERY level. It’s just way to complicated and wordy for newer players. I took my 13 year old to her first pre-release tonight, and while she had a blast, she was constantly confused about what her cards did. This wasn’t her first time playing
