Today marks my final day at Cool Cats. I’ve been drawing Blue Cat since 2013, starting as a doodle, to The Catoonist, to Cool Cats: a digital art collection, a Macy’s Parade balloon, and an animated series. Since I was little, all I ever wanted was to create a character of my own. Blue Cat is how that dream came true. The Board has decided to take Cool Cats in a new direction, one that no longer includes me. I respect their decision, and I’ll always want the best for Blue Cat. The closest thing I can compare this feeling to is raising a kid and watching them leave for college. I gave him everything I had over these 13 years, and now it’s time to wish him well. Thank you to everyone who believed in me, to every employee who poured their heart into this, and to the fans who stood by me through every high and low.
