During Women’s History Month, grade 4/5 students studied the work of Indigenous artist Jackie Traverse. They noticed that her art is often inspired by strong women. Students recreated some of Jackie’s pieces using colored pencil, ink and water color paint. @beg_RETSD

Grade 4/5’s were so excited to experience the solar eclipse today via livestream and various indoor learning activities. We could hear the cheers down the hallway as each region in the livestream reached totality. It was just a lot of fun! Science rules! @beg_RETSD

Tonight was just a beautiful evening of celebrating student learning. It’s essential to make learning visible, connected to assessment and shared in a meaningful way. Ss communicated their strengths, challenges and next steps. They felt pride in their achievements❤️@beg_RETSD

He Ho! Grade 4/5s enjoyed a beautiful day at Festival du Voyageur. We sang, danced, feasted on pea soup & bannock, and connected with tradition, culture, language and each other. Just a really special time. @FDVoyageur @beg_RETSD

Grade 4/5s engaged in a novel study of ‘Forever Birchwood’ by Danielle Daniel. Incredible opportunities for discussion & learning! Ss designed & created tree forts, researched traditional uses for the birch tree & learned about the land & resources of Southern Ontario. @MyrcAward
