@JamesCopley_ Cirkin did well & seems Prem level but needs games. I have so much respect for the home grown lads and what they did for the club. Patterson still has it all to prove & Neil sub to many times at Ipswich still looks ‘light weight’ for Prem.

@JamesCopley_ @sunechosafc Needed to make changes. Hume gives overlap potential for defenders. Le Fee deserves the opportunity. Diarra needs the rest to regain focus and reset.

@JamesCopley_ Guess that has been SAFC problem in the second half of the season - limited quality off the bench. Bringing Le Fee and Reinaldo on for the last 15 changed the game.

Understand Sunderland’s starting XI will be weaker on paper this afternoon - but the bench has been boosted. Around 15 minutes to go until team news drops, and we have the full picture. #SAFC

@JamesCopley_ Ever is a tall order. But it’s up there because of size and shape of squad. So many out. Le Fee energy - to start the move, then run over half the pitch pick it up and cross. Makes it one of top games. TIL the end !

Two changes for #SAFC here at Vale Park - Talbi and Rigg come in for suspended Hume and Sadiki. As expected Xhaka not risked on this pitch, but is on bench. Expecting Geertruida RB and O'Nien LB - with Diarra perhaps dropping deeper in midfield. Talbi and Angulo out wide.

@JamesCopley_ Touch and go for us. Leeds into their rhythm- defensively did well although with last gasp bits. Hopefully Granit on early in second half to add some control?

Not a great game so far. Leeds look the more ambitious side. Sunderland a bit timid but largely solid. Leeds probably should have had a penalty - O’Nien had a real handful of Struijk. VAR didn’t even check it, which felt odd. He’ll need to be careful. Your thoughts? #SAFC

Robin Roefs is out injured, so it’s a debut for Melker Ellborg. Granit Xhaka is only fit enough for the bench - Luke O'Nien makes his first Premier League start and captains the side. Chemsdine Talbi drops out, with Nilson Angulo coming in. Thoughts? #SAFC

@Phil__Smith Patterson waits all season and never gets a game. Ellborg been here for a couple of games and is between the sticks - Football turns on a dime.

Three changes for #SAFC - No Robin Roefs the headline. Talbi and Xhaka on the bench. Ellborg, L09 and Angulo in - expecting 09 to be at RB and Geertruida at base of midfield. Massive test for a very, very stretched squad.

@sunechosafc Nonsensical decision - even if it were normal(which a shove in the back isn’t!) it prevents a goal scoring opportunity and therefore is a penalty. So many poor decisions, appreciate it’s a v difficult role, but at they could get the simple ones right.

@JamesCopley_ Agree. Better performance away from home. Could have gone either way. Ref was poor and that was as big a threat as Bournemouth attack. Var needs renaming to La La Land

That performance on the road was just as pleasing as the point. Stopped the rot after three straight defeats. Up to 37 points with 10 PL games left. Much better from Le Bris’ side - especially given the injury issues right now. Shambolic refereeing performance. Thoughts? #SAFC
