My kid keeps asking why C and K have the same sound, and she's actually kind of mad about it because her name starts with K and she doesn't want to share with C. Should I launch into a lengthy etymology, or nah?

A lot of there commercial success was due to the crossover appeal tho. So while Black groups followed the jodeci model, the white groups cut out the crossover audience Boyz II Men cultivated that Jodeci didn’t.
Stereo Williams@BeyondTheMemes

Here’s another controversial take: I know a lotta ppl look at Boyz II Men’s commercial decline in the late 90s and blame the rise of white boy bands. I don’t, tho. I’ve always maintained that by their 3rd album, folks had moved on to the Dru Hills, 112s and BlackStreets.

The funniest thing about the “where is the queer representation in Ryan coogler films” is both sides accusing each other of acting like white people lol

@atrupar Okay, tell me where in the constitution it says that you can't blow up someone who is bringing something illegal into the country and harming it then?

CROCKETT: Professor, are you saying you believe it's constitutional for the US to blow up people that are accused of being drug traffickers? "It's not going to be a yes or no answer" CROCKETT: I'm going to stop you there. It's unconstitutional.

It’s not bad, but people are framing it as something he HAS to do or he’s homophobic. We should be looking for more people to help shoulder the load of telling the Black perspective through film not putting all the responsibility on one person.
hedda was robbed@battymamzelle

Coogler's shown he's capable of feats of imagination we have rarely seen in this industry. he treats his black characters with kindness, respect and dignity. why is it bad that queer black people want to tap in? I'm confused. it's literally an expression of our trust in him.

I went to a PWI and this movie made me feel seen all the way up until the end. There’s shit we go through at them schools that were finally being depicted but the climax being your revolutionary Black girl crying at the feet of her white ta/boyfriend left much to be desired lol
President Hotep DOE Doobs@HotepDoobs

The BLM movement completely shifted Black film. Black film went from stories told by Black people for Black people, that was enjoyable for everyone, to being PSA’s for White people to be nicer to them, and it started with this abomination.

I would probably find this Jack Harlow album impressive if I hadn’t actually ever heard D’Angelo, musiq or any other soulquarians adjacent act. It’s not trash, but it is devoid of any soul or originality.

@ChuckieOnline When sitting down and talking to 2 white reporters in America with the history of “white artists putting on black art as a costume” you must be more media prepared than to jokingly proclaim “I got Blacker.” We not giving no more benefits of the doubt over here lol

I might be going mad but I don’t think Jack Harlow said (or was saying) that the music ‘MADE’ him blacker. I’m not even sure if he said the word ‘made’. I believe he said (and mean’t) he ‘went’ blacker in regard to the sub genre he was looking to explore.
BROWN GIRL GRINDING⭐️@LorenLorosa

We talked about Jack Harlow new neo-soul / R&B influenced project today and his “being blacker” Charlamagne says the album made Jack Harlow whiter 😂 Have yall listened? Full episode now on @Netflix
