The Cowboys trading UP for Downs is more logical (and likely) to me than them trading down.
And wouldn’t you know it, the Osa Odighizuwa compensation (pick 92) is the perfect compensation to climb from pick 12 to the Bengals at pick 10.

I wouldn’t throw in the towel on JJ McCarthy. Let me be clear on that.
But I’m not the one trying hard to bring in a super-talented 28 year old former #1 overall pick with 87 career starts and 2 pro bowls.
And please …stop with the “JJ can compete for the starting job with him.” Yea. No. You don’t sign Kyler to compete. You sign him because you intend on him being the starter. JJ’s “starting” career resumes elsewhere. That’s how I see it. Time will tell.

From a cap perspective, Cowboys save $4.75 million with the Osa Odighizuwa trade. But there is $16 million in dead money. They save about $2.5 million in the Solomon Thomas in cap space with $750,000 in dead money.

@AttackOnCowboys Serious question. What makes you think there gearing up to make a splash. History tells us that just isn’t the case. Not to mention they need to clear room for rookie contracts. And Osa off our books helps with that

Maybe I was too quick to discount Rashan Gary playing more 3/4i/5T this year. I don't think he's a great fit there but I don't make the decisions.
Would make the Osa trade make at least a little more sense, though that would mean DAL still needs to be hunting for multiple EDGEs, which would go against the "DAL moved on from Maxx after trading for Gary" reports we got yesterday.
Idk, i'm a bit at a loss right now.

i preached patience to folks who were hammering DAL after Day 1 or 2 of FA, but as the FA market dries up and DAL makes a move than makes drafting Keldric Faulk in Round 1 a real possibility, I'm inching toward switching sides. These aren't the moves that are going to lead to substantial improvement for the defense. Better coaching is the only that really moves the needle right now compared to last year.

Maxx continues to be on track in his recovery and if anything is ahead of schedule according to his surgeon Dr Neal El Attrache. Maxx remains on track to return during the offseason program & will undoubtedly return as the dominant game wrecker he has been these past 7 seasons.
