An attribute every golfer should add to their short game arsenal is trajectory control. Learning how to flight your wedges low, medium, and high gives you more options, more creativity, and more control around the greens. Check the vid ——————— If you’re struggling with your short game, I’d love to help you out! Go find me through my bio or via @skillestapp Let’s get into it!

Here is a snippet from an in person session today. The player was struggling with an incredibly low ball flight. This lead to an inability to create the stopping power required for his approach shots. Why was this happening? Quite a decent move to the top of the swing but from there an over emphasis on the downshift to the point he gets too far ahead. This create a steep AoA and very low dynamic loft. All we are working in the clip is the sequence helped with our alignment stick through the belt loops reference: 1. Load to the top 2. Downshift (for our man a slight bump of pressure into lead side) 3. As our hands get to our trail hip we think about the “snap!”, the clearance of the lead hip and simultaneously the release of the club. Effectively trying to push away and stand up from the earthier as we hit the ball. *Not early extension but extension at the correct time! We had great success neutralising his AoA and increase his dynamic loft. Strike location got better and we started to see some great ball flight results! Great work Baz

One of my favourite clients and now a good mate, Jazz (James), bumped into me before his round and said, “I’m shanking my chips and pitches. Cure me.” We stepped into “The Den” and this is how it went… - Created space at set up - Better swing plane on the way back (more vertical) This next is the gold… - Grip handle and hands feeling like they are moving closer to the body, even feeling like they may contact the body - Than turn and extend ( that que Jazz found hilarious) From there, Jazz went on to play to his handicap with the knowledge and confidence to execute around the green. Something small really helped shift his mindset and feelings around these shots. This isn’t the end though. We catch up on an ongoing basis, and this area of the game will be a true focus for the next little while. We want repeatability, predictability and finally… RELIABILITY. This takes time and work. It only needs 1% better each day…

Set up for success in the golf swing. When you get it right at address everything that follows becomes easier. A solid setup leads to a more effective and efficient delivery of the club, which means better strike, better ball flight, and better results. Less fighting the swing. More trusting it. That’s when golf stops being frustrating and starts being genuinely enjoyable. If you’re struggling with your game, reach out. Hit up the link in my bio for options

Who’s got the meta sunnies contact? 😝 POV - Inside Takeaway station The “6 to 12” line refers to 6 to 12 on a clock. This alignment track is set up just outside the toes and will act as the track or rail for the hands to moves down. If your hands move off the track and over the shoe laces well that is a recipe for inside takeaway. If the hands move down the track/rail you are now creating a very effective initial move that can set you up for a lot of good things throughout the swing! Try this! Want more? Everyone talks about “don’t sway” but here’s what they’re not telling you. Pure rotation without lateral movement? That’s actually where things fall apart. The club gets thrown out, you’re coming across the ball, and suddenly your strike feels like a battle you can never win. The fix isn’t less movement, it’s smarter movement. When your body moves the way it’s designed to, the club delivers itself through impact. No fighting it. No forcing it. Just an effortless strike off the face and performance that actually shows up when it counts. Save this. Your ball striking will thank you.

We commonly see the over-the-top driver pattern… But this player was the opposite extreme. Ball too far forward. Too much spine tilt. Swing got extremely flat. The result? Terrible strike. Topping tee shots. Losing access to speed and power. We didn’t rebuild the swing. We refined the setup, cleaned up the alignments, and slightly adjusted the plane. Suddenly the clubface wanted to return to the ball repeatedly. Centered strike. Better launch. Bombs downrange. Most players chase symptoms. The setup often tells the real story.

If your strike feels inconsistent… chunks, thins, heavy contact, low bullets off the bottom groove… There’s a good chance your low point control needs some work. These are 2 simple drills that help you understand where the club is interacting with the ground — and more importantly, how to control it. 1️⃣ Gate Drill Train face awareness + ground contact. Miss the tees → hit ball first → divot after the ball. 2️⃣ Alignment Stick / Line Drill Learn where your club is bottoming out. Good players hit ball first and bruise the turf AFTER the line. Simple? Yep. Effective? Absolutely. Better low point = better strike. Better strike = more flushes. Give these a go Want more? Head to my bio to find coaching options and my skool community, That’s Good! A lot of golfers can identify a position at impact… Very few actually understand the movement patterns and conditions that create it consistently. That’s the difference. This vid is really just one small piece of a much bigger system around building a repeatable, predictable and reliable golf swing. Understanding the condition is step one. Learning how to train it is where the real progress happens. I’ve put the full long-form No BS Ball Striking Guide inside That’s Good! Social for anyone wanting to dive deeper into the process, training and concepts behind it. Link’s in the bio 👊

Making a swing change can feel like a grind… but it doesn’t have to 👇 First, identify & understand what you’re changing and why (If you’re guessing… you’re guessing your way nowhere. Get guidance.) Now let’s build it 👇 1. Isolate it Use pause/freeze drills to lock in the feel → exaggerate it → own the movement → build awareness 2. Flow it Start layering speed back in: 25% → 50% → 75% → 100% 3. Earn it Once it’s repeatable & ball flight is predictable… Take it to the course and build reliability That’s how you turn a swing change into something that actually sticks. Explore → Train → Perform If you want help actually building changes that stick… Come join a crew of like minded golfers inside my That’s Good! Social community. Structured practice. Clear coaching. No BS. 👉 Link in bio, jump in and get to work.
