Son is watching Star Wars again. Watched the first one with him. I haven’t seen it in at least 15 years, it’s entertaining except for Jar Jar Binks which almost makes it unwatchable. I think if you just watch the prequels and the originals you have a nice story arc that ends in a satisfactory way, don’t even bother watching the sequels.

I bet Nolan would hate this but I think his most interesting, creative movie was Memento and that looked like it was filmed on a budget of $10 and a bucket of popcorn

@BLouu You guys don’t understand, the uk isn’t built for this heat, new home builds or pre 80s. Most houses are concrete and brick with insulation pretty much behind every wall 😭
And not too mention air conditioning isn’t a thing here, we only have fans and water lmao.

@Sawyer_DAA It think it was implied about a decade had passed since Casino and Skyfall. Special Ops guys that do this stuff for real have pretty short windows and then their bodies are wrecked by 40.

It's funny how Casino Royale was also a Bond origin story. Earning the number.
Quantum of Solace takes place just hours after the first movie.
And then comes Skyfall and they immediately tell Bond he is too old for this shit and needs to retire.

@CkingsonK @Merrill_1984 Poor choice of words on my part because I think movies like Return of The King, Gladiator, Titanic, Braveheart, Forrest Gump are all crowd pleasers but more deserving because they're epic in scale & story. I would not class fluff like F1, Top Gun or Black Panther the same way.

Why wouldn’t a crowd pleaser be in a strong position for a nomination?
Not all best picture noms have to be biopics, historical films, or slow burn dramatic films and musicals.
The Oscars isn’t Cannes and I don’t think it ever tried to be.
