Just a quick heads up for people complaining (I'm not saying NATO is amazing) about the lack of support from NATO in Iran, perhaps read the charter: Defensive Only: Article 5 is invoked only when a member is the victim of an armed attack. If a NATO member initiates an attack, other members are not treaty-bound to help.

Remember. For all the terrible things happening in the fertilizer world, potash is still your friend. Extremely well supplied. Prices have been steady ($12.50 low/high price gap for 2026) In the lowest/best 25% of potash/corn ratio values. Potash loves you. Love it back!

Just came across this… what’s your thoughts folks? Haven’t listened to the full podcast, but I would say IA grows a lotta of corn because that’s what it’s best suited for? These pod casters sure love talking about glyphosate

Why is conservation adoption is so slow in agriculture? It’s not ignorance. It’s economics…& time. A lot of farmers aren’t just farming anymore; they’re working off-farm, running side hustles, doing whatever it takes to stay afloat. Conservation takes management. It takes attention. It takes time most don’t have. And then there’s cost. Strip-till. Cover crops. Precision nutrients. None of it is free to try, and none of it is simple to manage. So what happens? Guys go back to what works: One pass. One plan. Fewer variables. Not because they don’t care… but because they assume they can’t afford not to. Every farmer wants to leave the land better. But first, they have to not just survive, they have to thrive.

@schuelkecorn @corn_porkNbeans I’ve been so dedicated to no-till in the hills…fearful of hitting it with tillage and having to start over… I need to let it go and hit it with tillage

@corn_porkNbeans I was in the nation's first CSP 20 years ago. Being paid for things we already practiced. (no-till, VR fert, sprayer shut off, IPM, etc) I chisel plowed all my bean stubble last year. Do what you need to do when you need to do it. Putting a label on something is silly.

@SoybeansRus Then we’ll have to hire 400 managers and 1000 salesmen that are our relatives and give them bloated salaries and white pickups to drive. We can let them keep the profits to “expand”, but they’ll just end up building in Brazil. Shucks corporate America screwed us again

If you took an average of 92,000 Farmers in the U.S. and each chipped in roughly $135,000 dollars a one time payment we could build Ammonia plant in the U.S. That’s If you scale Blue Point’s cost by capacity, a Donaldsonville-sized ammonia complex 1.4 million metric tons per year that would pencil out around $12.4 billion as a rough modern replacement-cost estimate. 🤷‍♂️

Did anyone attend an ag university and feel they actually learned what they needed to to be successful on the farm? If so, which college and what course or degree?

Fred farms 6,000 acres which are all leased through many landlords. He is well known as a top-notch producer and regularly must turn down offers to rent acres from new and existing landlords as those farms don’t fit within his operational goals. For his first opportunity to buy out a small parcel from a landlord, he had the ability to make the entire purchase on his own. His understanding of the importance of cash to keep his risk levels down and how much cash is needed to scale the operation led him to pursue a different option. Instead of buying the entire property, he found a friend from college who ran his own business. These two bought the ground on 50% shares. The ability to bring in a like-minded investor and preserve cash will allow Fred to buy ground each time a landlord approaches him wanting to sell.

It's not the 'fraud' that bothers them. It's alleged Black Somali fraud that does. This story wouldn't have got even half the attention if those in question were White. That's the very sad reality of it all.
