- Obinna was one of the first targets for Kentucky in the Class of 2027. - He was offered in September of 2024, just a couple months into the Mark Pope Era. - Visited Lexington in October when they played Purdue. - Visited Lexington in Feburary when they played Oklahoma. - Coaching staff conducted a in home visit right before the portal officially opened. - Kentucky was in constant talk throughout his entire recruitment before they backed off. Kentucky is still in need of a backup center and targets have dwindled. Makes you wonder if waiting on Tyran Stokes hurt their chances with other guys.

NEWS: 5⭐️ Obinna Ekezie Jr. has committed to Louisville and will reclassify to 2026 to play for the Cardinals this upcoming season, he tells @Rivals. The 7-foot center was the No. 2 overall player in the 2027 class and the No. 1-ranked center. on3.com/rivals/news/5-…

Beyond the blue chip ratio we can also do some simple math from last week’s draft. 87 picks from 16 SEC schools = 5.3 avg per SEC school. 68 picks from 18 B1G schools = 3.7 avg per B1G school. If we assume this trend holds across a 5 year full class cycle (and it has for the past 20 years), that means SEC teams play around 5-7 more NFL players PER CONFERENCE GAME than B1G teams. Think that matters?

Walk the Line is one of the reasons people keep making music biopics. I think when studio heads sit down and give a biopic a green light, they picture the movie turning out something like what James Mangold directed. Easier said than done. We’ve all learned that the hard way.

@JoshPateCFB I am a lifelong college football fan in my late 40s. I can’t speak with certainty across the nation but what Josh is saying here certainly tracks with my peer group.

At this point we are just in portal mania with every name coming up generating massive interest. Montgomery is a good player. Already played in the SEC at UGA. But he’s a journeyman who had some off court issues (reportedly) and he is not an elite shooter or defender. It just seems like we are not talking about guys who will significantly move the needle. If pope wants UK to contend for anything meaningful he needs to sign a couple alphas stat

I’ve heard this argument a lot lately and it’s dumb and vacuous. The Kentucky basketball brand is still incredibly valuable and will be for a very long time. A bad coach and AD are a problem for sure. But look at ticket sales, attendance, tv ratings, licensed product sales, etc. You think those assets don’t matter? It’s just a matter of time before they get the right leadership again to leverage their resources. Kentucky is much bigger than Pitino, Calipari or any other individual

@BRamseyKSR 100% agree. Far more alarming than Pope’s inability to close a big target is his choice of targets in the first place. Does he even have a system at this point or is he just randomly throwing bags at the On3 rankings?

One frustration/concern I have is that Kentucky doesn’t seem to be REALLY going after some of the BEST shooters in the transfer portal. Below are eight players ranked in the Top 100 of available transfer portal guys who were BETTER shooters than Collin Chandler last season. It seems like landing one of them would be a majority priority. John Blackwell (Wisconsin) Leroy Blyden Jr. (Toledo) Jake Hall (New Mexico) Juke Harris (Wake Forest) Terrence Hill Jr. (VCU) Paul McNeil (NC State) Milan Momcilovic (Iowa State) Hamad Mousa (Cal Poly)

@KySportsRadio Are you guys all blind? The question isn’t can Pope get Diallo. The question is why are we recruiting him at all? How does this guy fit a system? Does Pope even have a system? The problems are way deeper than can he close a portal target.

Kentucky will try to get Zoom Diallo wrapped up today. If that doesn’t happen, then I will start to be a bit concerned UK had two different recruiting plans based on whether they ended up with Wright or Diallo. But they have to get one

@TristanUda lol. Duke sucks and I enjoy watching them lose. But in their past 8 seasons (not counting covid) they’ve been to the Elite 8 six times and Final Four twice. In that same span UK has reached one elite 8 and lost on the opening weekend 4 times.

When Calipari was at Kentucky, the narrative of choking in the NCAAT with elite freshmen was pushed every year. Duke has had the most talented roster multiple times, with multiple #1 picks, for the better part of a decade and have failed to capitalize. Where is the same energy?

From @TheAthletic: For 40 years, Duke has been college basketball’s most polarizing team. People love to hate Duke. But has Duke basketball become less hateable? Perhaps, maybe, even likable? nyti.ms/47jRjJy

@keithtaylor21 @TitansUK14 This is ridiculous. It’s closer to 60% of the fan base. And they aren’t chasing clicks. They’re seeing ongoing poor roster construction and a substandard product on the floor despite a record number of dollars spent. Has UK signed a class of 26 player yet?

Mark Pope on BBN "Here's the thing, we can get confused sometimes. So there is a super, super vocal like, 1% a point 1% but they're incredibly vocal and and a lot of is wrapped around trying to get hits and looks and bites and listeners. And then there's the 99% of BBN that is in this as true believers. They love this program, they're cheering their guts out. They're living and dying for our guys. They want nothing more for for this progress to continue to for us to get to another banner, and they're doing everything they can to help the program, not hurt the program. ... everybody I meet and we meet, a lot of people post game lines around town. Everybody that I see BBN like the true BBN, they are so in this they are so praying for us to be successful. That's different than when I talk about the people that are just trying to capitalize off, you know, putting out negative about 20 seconds...."

There is a quiet health revolution happening. To see it, join peptide groups on Telegram and Discord. You'll find normal people sourcing peptides, vetting suppliers, group testing, and sharing their results. To put it simply, helping each other. There are mothers who know more about peptides than your tech/hollywood bros ever will. It's decentralized. It's grandparents teaching each other crypto to buy peptides from China. It's real people having real results. They're done with the system that keeps them sick and overmedicated. It's honestly inspiring to watch.

Kirby Smart spoke at UGA’s Pro Day about the new Falcons regime “I got to talk to a Kevin (Stefanski) for awhile, Matt (Ryan) for awhile. They’ve welcomed us to their organization and said ‘you can come to our place anytime you want.’” Smart said the Falcons “know what this university has to offer.” Sounds like a more collaborative era between UGA & Flowery Branch
