@clarkelivesay @davidleegeorge Offensively, sure. “Significantly better” overall is insanely disrespectful to one of the best defensive players in program history (if not THE best)

@davidleegeorge Jared butler was significantly better than Mitchell. No hate to Mitchell but butler was our star guard for sure

Point guards are obviously very important. Baylor’s two Elite 8 runs and National Championship team had Tweety Carter, Pierre Jackson and Davion Mitchell. Those 3 might on the list of Baylor’s all-time Top 15 players.

There has been a lot of misinformation about what happened at the Sinquefield Cup and the events that followed. Because of the upcoming Netflix documentary, there were limits to what I could publicly say until now. With the documentary about to be released, it’s time to set the record straight. Over the past couple of years, Joe Rogan and others have discussed the situation many times, often without a clear understanding of what actually happened. Given how extensively Rogan has talked about it, I believe it’s especially important that I have the opportunity to go on his podcast and address it directly. I’m planning on going on a podcast tour to make sure the truth reaches the world. Please share this, and feel free to recommend podcasts you think I should go on.

@JeffBarnes52 @nkw36 @LairCrawford If basketball came first and overlapped with football, and your staring tailback quit hoops to join football, but instead you had to hold him out through half the season, THEN we would know if there was consistency. Maybe you would. I doubt it.

@JeffBarnes52 @nkw36 @LairCrawford In Texas, only large classifications have spring ball. Thats what Imeant. point 2 still stands. Hold out a kid in spring all you want; if he’s a baller for you he’s starting in August. I’m not attacking you. I’m sure you do it right and care, just offering another perspective

As an AD, we made a rule: if a student-athlete quits mid-season, they can’t join preseason activities or the next season’s team until the season they quit is over. Purpose: hold athletes accountable to their commitment.

@JeffBarnes52 @nkw36 @LairCrawford Hard-fast rules are usually bad. All situations are different. Not all kids “quit” for the same reason and automatically holding them out isn’t always the right thing.

@JeffBarnes52 @nkw36 @LairCrawford 1. Spring practice effects like 15% of schools. 2. Being held out of spring football isn’t a real punishment. 3. The intent may not be that, but he’s absolutely correct football gets the benefit of always going first and isn’t effected by this or other “sharing athlete” issues

@Matt_Stepp817 Counterpoint from coaches perspective - reg. tournaments (esp region 1) are often long drives & lead to worse atmospheres for teams. Also, most are formatted in a way where teams play a the semi on Friday night and the final on Saturday afternoon. Not ideal for important games.

My "radical" plan for #txhsbb If $ was no object & we keep the split division format 1) bring back regional tournaments, this would almost be universally celebrated! 2) play semis Thurs/Fri in various facilities in San Antonio 3) #UILState Games Fri/Sat at Alamodome

@ByJacksonPosey Youre only arguing with the lowest rung of Baylor “fans”. Any reasonable person realizes this isn’t even a conversation. Drew is no where close to the hot seat. (This year has been horrific)

Before Scott Drew came to town, Baylor had one NCAA Tournament appearance in the past 50 years, and hadn’t won a game there since the Truman administration. Twenty years before Drew was born. Trust me, the past five years haven’t been “bad.” Not even close.
Bruiser41, GED🦋🐻 🎧@Blixa_Mxyzptlk

Well I think it is. 5 years it’s been bad. This isn’t a one year thing. Out of the 5 years this is by far the worst of em. He will continue to regress. The faster you acknowledge it and start to have those conversations the easier transition to be. No need to be attached to this guy. He wasn’t to Baylor when he went searching. I think that part does need to stop.
