@PoirierGaethje 3 times a year compulsory if no major injuries. If this can’t be fulfilled due to injury then the ufc should have to make an interim title bought in that division. IC is guarenteed next fight to be champ, if champ declines or ducks he is stripped of title

@Itshaber Anyone else not able to get onto ultimate team on Xbox series or do EA just hate me

@MarleyLovesBeer @laura_woodsy Don’t act like you know what he’s about then ffs 🤣🤣🤣
English

@laura_woodsy I respect your opinion,Laura. But I had zero interest in watching Charlie regularly.
English

I really can’t get out of my head what has happened to Charlie Kirk. I watched him a lot, not because I agreed with everything he said, but because he was an absolutely formidable commentator and could debate in a relentless, yet respectful way. Shot in the throat for using his voice. I’ll never get that image out of my head. Horrifying.
English

@JonnyBones You are the whole reason the heavyweight division stagnated for so long. Us fans are actually excited to see it moving again please just fight at LHW against Reyes on the pre Lims or something and leave the heavyweight division alone now 🤣🤣🤣🤣
English

Despite the odds, I’m still training and optimistic about the possibility of being part of the White House event. At the end of the day, Dana is the boss and it’s his call whether I compete that night or not. I do know Dana was really excited about the fight, and the door hasn’t been completely closed. That’s all a guy like me really needs. It sounds like another awesome goal to be inspired by. Sometimes in life, we’re not going to reach everything we set out to do and that’s okay. But I like my chances… after all, one in a billion is exactly what it took to end up as Jon ‘Bones’ Jones in the first place.

@Darth_Vaporize @Home_of_Fight And to summarise my points and arguments I will use Khamzat vs Dricus (the fight this entire thread originated from) as an example.
English

@js101082 @Home_of_Fight Your point is invalid.
Dana White feels the same way I feel.
He constantly tells fighters to not leave it up to the judges.
It's about trying to FINISH the fight not just trying to win on points.
I will use Anderson Silva vs Damian Maia as an example.
English

⚡️Demetrious Johnson goes OFF on fans criticizing Khamzat Chimaev’s performance at #UFC319
"If you guys don’t wanna watch grappling and wrestling — don’t watch the UFC.
You guys are complaining about something which is very easy problem to fix.
Let’s say Khamzat is about to fight again. All you have to do is, you see this button right here. It’s called off button, [presses remote].
It’s a very simple problem to fix guys. You making it a bigger deal than it is."

@Darth_Vaporize @Home_of_Fight The whole not leaving it to the judges thing literally only rings true in a competitive fight Khamzat vs Dricus was a completely one sided affair and there is not one person on earth who would of scored it for Dricus. So really your point there is invalid in this case.
English

@Darth_Vaporize @Home_of_Fight So with that in mind, my original point being that an MMA fighter job is to win within the ruleset by any means necessary please explain to me how I am wrong without using Dana’s opinion on how a fight should play out. He is not a judge neither does he have the only say in rules.
English

@Darth_Vaporize @Home_of_Fight And in any fight you can most certainly leave it to the judges if you are absolutely dominating your opponent so that approach to a fight is certainly subjective to how the fight is playing out at the time isn’t it?
English

@Darth_Vaporize @Home_of_Fight My point is certainly not invalid, just because Dana prefers fighters to fight a certain way doesn’t mean his word is gospel? He’s not the one risking brain injuries. Their whole job depends on them taking the least amount of damage possible to prolong their careers.
English

@TateTheTalisman @dricusduplessis I agree, also the hate on Khamzat for how he fought is unjustified. He won by any means necessary within the MMA ruleset, which is his job. The way he won is actually mad impressive tbf. No doubt Dricus will bounce back and continue to do great things with or without the belt
English

The hate @dricusduplessis is getting from people is totally unjustified.
Chin up champ, ignore the noise.
English

@ChaelSonnen The job of an MMA fighter is to win by any means necessary (within the ruleset). When strikers are hesitant and are up on the scorecards and just see the fight out no one talks as much. Only when it’s wrestling. What Khamzat did is mad impressive, you haters just don’t like it.

@Darth_Vaporize @Home_of_Fight The job of an MMA fighter is to win by any means necessary (within the ruleset). When strikers are hesitant and are up on the scorecards and just sort of see the fight out no one talks as much. Only when it’s wrestling. What Khamzat did is mad impressive, you just don’t like it.

I don't think the majority of people have issues with the grappling feature of MMA.
The problem was far more direct and specific.
You cannot with a straight face claim Chimaev tried to WIN that fight.
There's a fundamental difference between HOLDING a position for safety and attempting to advance your position and WIN.
This was a recreation of the most played out video game style of UFC / MMA that every gamer is aware of and has been subject to for many many years.
Chimaev literally put DDP into a position where the player did not even know the buttons to push to get out of the position he was in.
It was the classic definition of " Cheese "
The player basically held his opponent down in a dominant position for 5 rounds, rarely attempting any method to finish the fight.
From a Win vs Lose perspective it's on DDP to get the fuck out of the position...
From a fan perspective nobody saw a player attempt to win the fight...
we saw a player hold a position each round to win on points.
This is why people are upset and did not consider it entertaining.
English

@Itshaber Completely forgot they did this then I saw this tweet, checked my emails and I had one 🤣
English

@DeclinenAmerica @JonnyBones Tom has beaten 6 of the top 10 heavyweights and defended his interim title I think he more than earned his chance at the then champion which was jones. He’s champ now doubt he even cares about the jon fight that much anymore tbf
English

Here is my take that no one has been saying. I believe you wanted Tom or anyone else to earn the shot at a fight with you and not just handed the opportunity. You willingly gave up the belt because Dana couldn’t see your vision and now Tom has to fight another big dawg to earn that chance and if he does then you will give him the opportunity and when you win that fight you officially retire and are cemented as the Goat no ifs ands or butts about it. Am I close?
No of that of course needs to happen for you to be the goat but all the chatter about Tom this and that I’m sure you feel like it’s disrespectful and want to beat his ass just to shut people up.
English

@JonnyBones It’s mad how the supposed goat of MMA retires and everyone’s just buzzing he’s packed up and left no one’s bothered 🤣 should of just put the gloves down after the stipe fight and called it a day now always gunna have this hanging over your legacy

Today, I’m officially announcing my retirement from the UFC. This decision comes after a lot of reflection, and I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for the journey I’ve experienced over the years.
From the first time I stepped into the Octagon, my goal was to push the boundaries of what was possible in this sport. Becoming the youngest UFC champion in history, defending my title against some of the best fighters in the world, and sharing unforgettable moments with fans across the globe—these are memories I’ll cherish forever. I’ve faced incredible highs and some tough lows, but every challenge has taught me something valuable and made me stronger, both as a fighter and as a person.
I want to thank the UFC, Dana, Hunter, Lorenzo, God, my family, coaches, teammates, and all the fans who have stood by me through every chapter. Your unwavering support and belief in me have been my foundation. To my fellow fighters, thank you for bringing out the best in me and for the respect we’ve shared inside and outside the cage.
As I close this chapter of my life, I look forward to new opportunities and challenges ahead. MMA will always be a part of who I am, and I’m excited to see how I can continue to contribute to the sport and inspire others in new ways. Thank you all for being part of this incredible journey with me. The best is yet to come.
