#IrisWatch2026 These purple bearded irises are always so dramatic when they bloom, 🤞the weather should be mild enough this week that they won’t get blown down and destroyed like last year.

The food was good, but not fancy: plums and russet apples, nuts and berries, hot apple pancakes, soft chestnut bread, cheeses, and mint tea, with flagons of cordial for those who wanted it.

Grateful Dead
Grateful Dead@GratefulDead·
“There are bad Grateful Dead shows. There are good Grateful Dead shows. There are certainly plenty of great Grateful Dead shows. And then there are shows like 3/22/90." — Dave Goodwich, Glide Magazine Fans packed Copps Coliseum in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada for two nights in March, culminating on this day in 1990. The band played roughly 23 times up in the Great White North, with their last four appearances occurring at this venue. This show proved to be a knockout from start to finish, highlighted by a standout "Scarlet Begonias > Fire on the Mountain" to open the second set, and a farewell encore of Dylan's "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue. @GoodWillsmith “music my mom listens to” esp. kitchen or driving context, is a real trip when you experience it from the other side of the coin. the judgement from my teenagers, especially on my car tunes is intense. All apologies to New Wave as a genre, it has been ruined for them

the goal posts are always moving. something u think is “lightly obscure” might have blown up bigger than ever thru any number of avenues. when this happens, instead of re-calculating my whole perception of it & how i should feel now, i think “ah nice, good for them” & that’s it

paying attention to the context you experience music in is important but sometimes ppl get so caught up in it that the actual art becomes an afterthought. reminds me of “coworker music” or “i love the band but i hate the fans” — i’m begging u to get closer to the music itself

No one wants to talk about the light monoculture of spotify-core workplace safe "deep" cuts. Lightly obscure music that makes the listener feel tapped in and cultured when they listen to songs thatll be played over some HBO credits by the end of the year
