Wild day.
Had to leave the game unexpectedly after getting a call that my son had taken a scary fall and was headed to the hospital. Thankfully, after a very long few hours, he got the all clear and is doing well. Tough kid.
The first thing he asked me when I walked into the ER:
“Did the Mets win?”
Saying “yes” didn’t really feel like I was doing it justice.
Sorry I disappeared and missed the walk-off interview. Pretty good reason, I’d say.
Anyway, what a win. What a homestand. Season back on.
Very grateful tonight. See you tomorrow from D.C.
@NYNJHarper For me, any time there's a discussion of eating money and Cohen is laughable. He had a $3M TOILET. This season is on the verge of a huge disaster and he's going to be concerned about Semien's contract? He has NO value. Stearns got suckered. Semien is clearly finished.
So much to like about Benge. Readily owns his mistakes, such as misplay in OF and poor jump on 1st-and-3rd play, even as he gets better every day. Two hits off tough lefty, Valdez, and then the walk-off single. Clearly enjoys himself. Maybe he and Ewing can change the vibe.
Mets are literally unwatchable. It makes me so irrationally mad watching these guys have the worst at bats consistently every single game. There’s 0 adjustments, there’s 0 urgency by the players, manager, front office & ownership. The Mets are embarassing
