Senior DOJ officials, from the Acting Attorney General down, betray their oaths daily by following unlawful or unjust orders. Better men and women would have resigned months ago. Their dishonor should follow them. Focused Congressional oversight, long overdue, is badly needed.

Mullin is outright lying here. Even during the massive Operation Metro Surge, where more federal agents were deployed to Minneapolis than any city ever, DHS did not have to divert CBP officers doing international screening to assist. There is no operational need for it. Zero.

DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin: "This may affect international flights coming in and out of their airports because I'm gonna have to pull CBP officers out of being able to process international flights and put them helping our ICE agents."

@ReichlinMelnick You are assuming that Senator Mullin is capable of thinking through the consequences of the action. Probably not a good assumption

Again, this would be deliberately stabbing the U.S. economy in the back. It would cause enormous economic damage and disrupt air travel nationwide, as airlines would be forced to cancel flights en masse. That he’s even contemplating this publicly is a sign of madness.
Aaron Rupar@atrupar

Markwayne Mullin: "If CBP isn't there processing international flights, then those individuals when the airlines land won't be permitted into the United States. If things don't change, we're gonna have to make this step pretty quick."

I must say, I wouldn't have expected so many Americans to bow down to one person. To lend themselves to a mass political cult. I thought we were made of sterner, prouder stuff. The republican spirit (note the small "r") is wanting.

Breaking news: Trump administration officials have pressed the Bureau of Engraving and Printing to design a $250 bill featuring the president’s portrait, in what would be the first appearance of a living person on U.S. currency in more than 150 years. wapo.st/4dQNsGj

It mostly comes from Piketty & Capital in the 21st Century. He had a chart depicting a "u-curve" rebound of inequality in the UK from 1980-present. I dug deep into Piketty's data though and found that none of his curves matched their claimed data sources after 1980.

Where does this "inequality" talk come from, what are they referring to? Inequality has been flat, trending downwards since Blair became PM. No difference if you consider after tax vs before. Wealth share of the richest 1%/10% similar story, fluctuating within a negligible range.

Impact is who writes the check to the government. Incidence is who actually bears the cost after prices adjust. Politicians talk about impact. Your wallet cares about incidence.

Insane left-bias in academia isn't some sort of global default - we really don't see it in China, free Asia, West Africa, the Arab world, India, even Eastern Europe. "Long march through the institutions" be like.
John Rain@johnthenoticer

A recent study looked into “cancel culture” in academia: It found that right-leaning academics are much more likely to self-censor than left-leaning ones, but only in Western countries.

MAGA Grandma ready to call ICE—on teens practicing Mexican songs for quinceañera. "You can't play that stupid Mexican crap that loud—it's disrespectful!" she yells. "She's 15 years old... why are you fighting with minors," kids reply. She also used leaf blower to disrupt them — and in another instance threw branches over the fence toward the teenagers. Even though the music was so low the girl's family said that they couldn't even hear it inside their own house — and it was only 4:00pm in the afternoon. At the end of the video the neighbor leaves threatening again to "call the cops." The incident occurred in Tulare, California.

This is all my former party has left. No ideas, policies, or principles, just a list of buzzwords and phrases to fill in the blanks on any given subject. And everyone letting them get away with this perpetual Mad Libs strategy is facilitating their ugly overhaul of our nation.

@JohnDalyBooks The man looks like the low life sleaze that he is. His ugly mug is a good enough reason not to vote for him. What is wrong with Texas?
