@Ajelenbogen I haven't looked at the prize structure, but front loading the byes also makes any other prizes based on top 16/32/64 nice and clean.

I don't understand the choice to front-load the byes instead of back-load them in this situation. Making 6 players play round 1 just seems cruel.

I don’t play constructed much anymore outside of standard and historic but here we go! Pioneer: ban Karn Modern: unban twin, ban Ring(?), Leyline binding :3 Legs: unban mind twist, ban bowmasters(don’t agree with this one but they might fold to community outrage again)

@Fydun @Burnt_Taco77 Not the same system, but you could pair normally, and then whoever's been on the play fewer times is on the play. If it's tied it's random. You could still be on the draw a bunch if you keep getting paired with people just as unlucky as you and you lose the flip, but it's harder.

@Burnt_Taco77 How does that work with pairing? Does that mean if you were on the play round one you have to play against someone who were on the draw?

I'm reading the play/draw disparity discourse on reddit. There is an easy solution that doesn't involve player 1 having a tapped land. Simply just have players alternate play/draw each round in a tournament, It's what chess does.

@theFrostmind @MasterCatHerder @playtowinmtg Enchantments do a variety of things. Seal of Fire is a one shot effect, Oblivion Ring is kind of like a one shot removal spell but at the very least isn't anything like the enchantments you described, etc.

@MasterCatHerder @playtowinmtg 100% yes. The only thing about them that functions like enchantment is that they are destroyed by disenchant. Enchantments alter basic game flow by changing combat math, mana producing capabilities, and altering the beginning phases. Sagas are three one shot effects.
