Bittersweet morning the day after Flyers season ended for 2025-26. It was a fun season that genuinely feels the start of better things. Hate for it to end.
On the flip side, except for @HockeyDayInHTX and the day thereafter, I haven't been in the same place with Leigh and the kids since the Olympics. Excited to go home for my anniversary and Leigh's birthday a couple weeks thereafter.

A little birdy told me a host of @FlyersAlumni -- including some notable out of towners-- will be in the house tonight to root for the team in Game 6 against the Penguins. I won't spoil it in case they are on camera at all during the game.

The Flyers have made five recalls from the Phantoms for tonight's game.
G: Aleksei Kolosov (I'd think he backs up Sam Ersson so Vladar isn't needed in case of injury)
D: Oliver Bonk (NHL debut if he plays), Hunter McDonald (ditto).
F: Anthony Richard, Jacob Gaucher.

TRADE ALERT: We have acquired defenseman David Jiricek from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for forward Bobby Brink.

The nature of hockey: In 2022, the Flyers opted for Cutter Gauthier over David Jiricek in the draft. No need to rehash the Gauthier saga. Four yours later, Jiricek is a Flyer.
Hoping that Todd Reirden helps unlock the player. The upside is still there but at some point, promise has to become performance.
Best case scenario: Ala the Braydon Coburn acquisition in latter part of 2006-07 season, Jiricek finds his way in Philly.

@JameyBaskow They need to make some moves to balance the roster. I want guys playing in their natural positions. Adding a guy like Sherangovich from calgary or raty and or Sasson from Vancouver helps

If I'm Danny Briere I wouldn't make any panic trades and mortgage the future to win this season, even with how bad things are right now.

@JameyBaskow We need to be patient. They are still building this team. They have a lot of pieces but it’s a lot of the same pieces. The roster needs a few trades to get players actually playing in their natural posistions/sides. And they need players who fit in the system tocchet has
