An LLC client told me he was moving his $80 million company to Paraguay. I told him to keep me posted on how the company setup would go, because if it went smoothly, I'd have clients interested in shifting their operations to PY. At that moment, some magic happened—the client snapped out of it outta nowhere, stopped talking about his $80MM company, and started pitching me—Paraguay. He said he was setting up a specialized consulting firm, and that it was the best thing in the world, etc. etc. etc. I asked about corruption, if he knew anything—like how much monthly bribe was needed to grease the wheels for the company. He got confused. Said he'd never heard of corruption in PY, a response I get every single time. He sent me an audio from his company's PY consultant, who assured ('that assurance is Yo!') that "he'd never seen corruption in his province." What got me was the guy's attitude shift when I mentioned clients for PY consulting—it was like he turned from water into wine. As if his 80MM company wasn't as important anymore as—selling PY industrial consulting. In the gold rush, whoever sells the shovels is the one who truly gets rich.
