@macinnes_neil @GlasgowLib Coincidence, I also spent my childhood visiting a Carnegie library, in Kendal....and the children's section there was upstairs too! Thinking back, I often wonder what mums with pushchairs did!

My amazing childhood library @GlasgowLib - the children’s library was upstairs - separate boys and girls entrance from the street - with a gate operated by a pedal behind the counter - only after you’d shown your hands and had clean nails - thankfully I always got in
