Is our community getting smaller? 🥺 Where are you? 🥹 It always hurts when people stop masking, esp. when they have some influence/reach.

Over the centuries, Valentine’s Day has gone thru many evolutions. Over time, it became a celebration of romantic love. Today, adding acts of kindness, the willingness to listen, & love for our fellow humans is what I hold in my heart. Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone. ❤️ - L🌹

@juliahosack @flo_mask I don’t like how it muffles my voice more then my breatheteq mask but overall I do love how much more breathable it is and how it fits on my face

I took a KF94 mask into work today for a co-worker. This is my last ditch effort to help her find a mask she can wear. So far, I’ve shared a # of different types for her to try. She last 2 minutes before taking down off her nose & mouth saying she can’t breathe. I gave it to 🧵

@juliahosack @DrNeilStone yes, the pandemic is over. The rate of contagion is below the threshold required to classify it as a pandemic now. And the only ones dying of it now are those who are too stupid to get a vaccine. So again, no reason to call it a pandemic

@mattyklein_ I’m fully ambulatory. What I can’t do is walk fast, carry weight, regulate heat or stand in lines, I will fall on you. I use ADA services (which is sometimes humiliating). I board first so I don’t slow the line, hurt anyone or spill my coffee on you. You can thank me next time.

@SleepyJim0 I'm on heavy-duty immonosuppressants so I've very at risk for being taken out by even minor viral infections, and you're right that it's more complex than people want to make it out to be. It can very blatently cause abismal quality of care by doctors to mask even in a hospital.

If you’re living in an anti-masking culture (eg the West) you can’t EASILY mask and get on in society. Sure if you’re in certain jobs and not after any changes you can hang on in there awkwardly. But job interviews, face to face sales and meetings, politics - right now? 🧵

@theBrianaMills Funny thing I noticed (patterns, I’m not ADHD🙄). All of the bots have always said, “it’s just the flu”. Now that people know what ‘the flu’ really is, I noticed every single one of the bots on this feed said “it’s no more than a cold.” Interesting.

Speaking as a therapist, there is no such thing as “Covid anxiety.” The mental health field is built on ableism and most therapists don’t understand that viruses can disable or kill someone. You’re not “crazy” for not wanting to get sick. It’s called self preservation.

@theBrianaMills If someone told me my aversion to catching a serious illness was anxiety, I would laugh in ther (doubtless unmasked) face, throw a few choice swear words at them and find someone normal to talk to. People pushing pro-disease as the norm are not right in the head.
