Yesterday was such an honor for us. Susan and I were honored with the launch of the Flippen Leadership Institute at Texas A&M University. It’s university wide and will serve all the students/alumni. Was an overwhelming and wonderful day, and we were honored to be there.

I have delayed writing what I am feeling about the assassination of Charlie Kirk til now. First, it is deplorable that someone can be murdered in our country for their beliefs. Second, it is an absolute indictment of our country that there are those who are celebrating his murder. You do not have to agree w/anyone on everything…I don’t even agree w/everything I do. My entire life has been given to serving others whether they agree or not I still treat them w/dignity and grace. We must be willing to refute violent language, resist hatred and seek a common good. A person’s death is not cause for celebration !!! Know that you reap what you sow so let it be grace even when you disagree strongly, respect the FACT that someone else may know something you don’t. Intellectual arrogance is the enemy of learning. Charlie provoked thought and dialogue whether you liked it or not is not the point, he made you think and consider another side. This is America and I refuse to let hatred rule our country. We are more than this and now is the time to act like it !!!

Recently a business friend asked me a good question: “How have you made a living?” I thought my answer might be worth sharing with you. “I have never focused on making a living. I have always focused on making a life that was worth living”. And I have done that and in the process, it has been/is a wonderful life.
