@juliusmay 1210 AM does very well for a radio station in today’s world. What format would they possibly change it to that would do better? I’ll wait.

I wonder if audacy will end the talk format on 1210 AM in Philly and go all sports and air all the Phillies games, in addition to 94 WIP airing them at the same time? A better programming option than the current format 1210 has right now.

@juliusmay @CalmDownAMinute What can they replace it with? I think it stays. The real story is coast to coast. Have you heard it lately? I like George Noory, but I swear he may not be well.

Devan Kaney is out at 94.1 WIP amid a new round of layoffs by parent company Audacy. Kaney has been with the station since 2022, regularly co-hosting WIP’s morning show alongside Joe DeCamara and Jon Ritchie. She also took over as the station’s sideline reporter on the Eagles’ radio broadcast late in the 2024 season, following Howard Eskin’s abrupt exit. “I had a blast working at WIP and sincerely enjoyed my time there,” Kaney said. “But as the old saying goes, when one door closes, another opens.” Kaney said she intends to remain in the Philly market, and will continue as weekend anchor at Fox 29. It’s also possible she could be back for Eagles broadcasts, since the role was separate from her job at WIP. Sources say there were multiple layoffs across Audacy’s seven stations in Philadelphia. In addition to WIP, the company owns KYW Newsradio, 1210 WPHT, WOGL 98.1, B101, BIG 98.1, and 96.5 WTDY. Audacy did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The layoffs come a little more than a week after David Yadgaroff, the company’s Philadelphia market manager and senior vice president, announced he was retiring from the company after 36 years. Audacy regional president Mark Hannon said Yadgaroff’s last day will be the end of May. Philadelphia wasn’t the only market impacted by Audacy’s layoffs. In Seattle Doug Duin — the assistant program director for Emma 94.1 and Hot 103.7 — was caught up in the cuts, according to Barrett Media. In Cleveland, traffic reporter Joe Czekaj announced his position had “been eliminated." “I’m not sure where I’ll go from here,” Czekaj wrote on social media. This is a developing story. Check back for updates.

@juliusmay why? Because WIP got rid of a woman who was too weak to take any criticism?

@juliusmay I mean I’m fine with Devan going. She pushed that bullshit Bryce Harper story and made the station look bad.
