"Banksy" has always struck me as a scam. A supposedly anonymous artist doodles graffiti around the world and the media always knows right away that it's him and runs stories about it? And now he's installing statues on plinths in the middle of London and no one notices? Get real.

There's so much to learn about people from small talk, the biggest insight is how pleasant they are, extremely unpleasant people avoid small talk completely, extremely pleasant people overindulge in it and never take the conversation anywhere more interesting, it's fun to observe

You get info without putting yourself in any real rejection possibility, even if they completely ignore your comment you've lost nothing, if they reply with a simple "yeah" then they've acknowledged your existence and maybe they'd like it if you said something more insightful

Yeah small talk is so useful at assessing if someone wants to talk to you or not without putting anything on the line, a simple "it's hotter today than it was yesterday" is such a dull statement but it gives the other person the chance to either reply or not with no pressure

Small talk lover here: Small talk sets the tone for the interaction. Most communication is non-verbal, you see. What you say is nothing compared to how you say it. It’s a vehicle to transmit a vibe. Getting good at small talk is getting good at connecting to people.

I understand why people back down, there's real risk involved, i don't blame anyone for wanting peace and quiet, but we need to adress that actual calls for change aren't pleasant and they never happen at parties or film festivals or whatever, that's not a valid strategy

@iam_sqrs People will prefer to rest yeah, but it's insane to me that all people want to do is rest. A person's life is what they train themselves for, if they only want to rest they'll start slacking even in their jobs, and they'll get more tired every time they attempt to make effort etc

سؤال "بتصلي؟" بالصحة النفسية مش لازم يكون أغرب من سؤال "عندك زوج/ة او حبيب/ة" او "هل مصاريك بتكفيك كل شهر"، كل العوامل هاي الها تأثير (بشكل مختلف أكيد) على نظرة الانسان لحاله ولحياته وللوجود ككل، وفي كثير ناس ما بصلوا ومبسوطين، وفي ناس ممكن فقدانهم للأمل بالآخرة هو أساس تعاستهم

بغض النظر انه الأسلوب سيء، بس هو صراحة سؤال مفيد، اللي بحس زي هيك وهو بصلي وضعه غير تماما عن واحد لاديني مثلا، اللي جد مآمن بالآخرة ولسا بسعى مشانها ومع هيك عنده هيك أفكار بكون جد وضعه كيميائيا خطير، بينما غير المؤمن ممكن يكون أساس المشكلة عنده نفسي وفكري، نقص في التطلع للمستقبل
